OT: San Diego Home Game

I have converted my lame formal living room to a game room, including a new poker table. So, I am thinking of putting together a regular home game (monthly?) but haven't worked out any details yet. The one thing I want it to be is for at least some kind of meaningful stakes and to be full of good players. It can be fun, raucous, etc., but it can also be to learn from each other. We may switch between a NL cash game (1/2 - 200 buyin or something) and tourney format, I don't know. No details worked out at all yet.

Anyone interested in being a part of this let me know. I know some non-2p2 locals I might be able to get involved as well.

I would be interested, not sure I can make it every month but would show up from time to time.

i'm pretty sure my husband and i would be able to make it from time to time! we're in orange county - just let me know!

**please note: we're not really 'good' players but definitely could get by and contribute dead money**

depending on how many players you get, you could realisticly do both tourney and cash.

we did this back where i used to play in NC. start out 60bb deep for a tourney, and blinds double everytime someone gets knocked out. i didnt really care for this format, but it worked out well for the 8 - 10 players we would have. some times we did a rebuy/add-on, usually a FO though. tourney lasted about 2 - 4 hours, then play cash till whenever.

just thinking out loud.

I will be re-locating to San Diego this January and would be very interested, depending on stakes, format etc. Feel free to PM me with more details.

Rich,

I definitely want to hear ideas. Keep them coming. I'm sure it will be a bit of trial and error. I'm hoping this can be a way to work on our games together too, and cash may mostly be the best way for that.

I got plenty of ideas, so no problem there. PM your AIM and we can kick some ideas around like that.

I would be down for anything 2/4 NL and under. I am moving to San Diego the week after christmas with my brother. It would be awesome to know of a home game as soon as I get there.

UCLA - I live in Ventura County, so it would be a drive, but I wouldn't mind making the trip every once in a while. Let me know how it goes.

Re: OT: San Diego Home Game

I'd make the drive from NYC once a month if

a) someone carpools
b) Paul makes chicken quesadillas

Part of what I'm hoping is that we occasionally get an out-of-towner to stop by. For you Rob, I'll make chicken quesadillas anytime.

Paul,
If your game room has a couch (for me to sleep on post game) I am in! Haha. Honestly I might be coming to SD soon anyway with a friend.

Actually, I don't think I'm allowed in San Diego because that's where my ex lives. Can we move the game like 20 miles in any direction?

My home is technically in Poway, so you should be good with that restraining order.

Justin, you've been saying that for like six months. If/when you make it down, we'll definitely put together a game.
