3/6 worst river in deck

no reads at all but i've never seen him before. not really scared of the ace, but the turn 9 and the diamond river are pretty gay. seems like he checks behind anything worse.

this is easy right?

if you're betting the turn then bet more. value shove river.

as played call.. wtf do you put him on to want to fold?

lol @ trivial

I like the fold here, there just can't be anything he bets here that you beat even though the bet is pathetic.

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

i bet 110 or so on the turn because people call that bet with 88/77 etc. all the time and even flushdraws, but I like how you played the river.

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

Yea I really want to value shove the river here given that he only has about $200 left. Once you check, c/fing seems right but given the odds you're getting I think i'd just say [censored] it and call. At least you get to see what he has.

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

Yeah I agree that the turn bet is too small, I'd make it $120 or so. River seems like a standard c/f though.

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

He has 88 or something like every time here

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

yeah turn bet was a little bit of a [censored] up...i can read the pot size but this is my first time playing 3/6 and i just automatically bet something in that 90-100 neighborhood.

if i shove the river i don't think he can call with 88 or whatever that he may have. i think it's a definite c/f.

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

Def don't shove.

I guess he could have 44

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

1) Value shoving the river is probably the worst thing I've ever heard in my entire life. I feel like channeling the Adam Sandler scene "at no point during your rambling, incoherent statement ...." etc.

2) $50-$53 on the flop is better. Agreed somewhat that if you bet the turn, make it more.

3) Limp UTG/call means he's fairly unlikely to have a random 9, and there's not many naked Ax hands he can get to the river with. If you're beat, it's a flush more then anything. As played folding is tempting, but you're getting 4-1, look him up.

i'm confused why you think this...is he trying to turn his 88 into a bluff for 1/3 pot on the river when he only has like 200 left?

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

he's a half stack retardo. sure he will have caught up with A8o or a flush some portion of the time but there is tons of absolute crap in his range and we need to be right less than 20% of the time. some guys just can't help betting if checked to regardless of whether worse can/should call, and it is very unlikely he is a thinking player.

btw my valueshoving river remark relied on betting more on the turn, i would not shove the river as played.

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

Given the awkward amount he has in his stack I may just push the turn.

AAismyfriend 10-22-2007 08:10 PM

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

Given that he bet the river I don't think he has 88 ever. Those saying he can't call a shove on this river with worse are out of their minds......this guy is obviously a loose passive fish, and loose passive fish don't have fold buttons. Given that you're getting 4:1, I think the river is a call. You lose here most of the time, but he can show up with 56 or whatever enough to call this IMO. I'd fold to a shove though.

Re: 3/6 worst river in deck

i bet more on the flop and overshove the turn here vs this stack size

as played I think you should fold though
