Re: BEAT: I am running horribly

Re: BEAT: I am running horribly

Well the second pot is pointless, your opponent may have sucked out on you but is short of money to buy a Twix Candy bar. The first hand is not really a bad play by your opponent considering a Q is not a likely card for you to hold considering your pre-flop raise.

how could you possibly know that a Q is not in my range? were you sitting at the table? and the second pot i only posted because i just thought it was gross how poorly ive been running lately

Re: BEAT: I am running horribly

Hand one is very standard suckout no? i didnt think villain played it bad other than the weak turn bet.

Karrotstiks 11-27-2007 01:27 AM

Re: BEAT: I am running horribly

maybe im missing something but could someone enlighten me as to why Hand 1 wasnt poorly played by villain

Cawley 11-27-2007 01:35 AM

Re: BEAT: I am running horribly

Well his call PF is ofc 100% fine.
His raise on the flop is fine also imo maybe he has a read on you? cbet alot?
His turn play? ok it was kinda a weak bet but you checked and didnt raise when he bet giving him the free shot at the river, he hits and ofc he doesnt go anywhere now.

Re: BEAT: I am running horribly

Hand 1 seems very reasonably played by villain. Of course, he should be working on his bet sizing, but so should you. At least he's value betting/protecting his good hands, though like I said he should be betting bigger.

You probably shouldn't slowplay trips btw.

Cawley 11-27-2007 01:41 AM

Re: BEAT: I am running horribly

Never slow play trips learn from me, took a shot at 5/10 with a $1,300 br last year and slow played my trip Queens for the river to fill villain up. It all went in and i had to go try sleep or cry!

Re: BEAT: I am running horribly

i know i shouldve raised the turn... but i raised from UTG... i was playing suuuuper nitty and making C - bets only from the button and cut off... i guess i couldve put him on 88 or 77 by the river but i couldnt have seen myself folding...

Karrotstiks 11-27-2007 01:45 AM

Re: BEAT: I am running horribly

should i have lead out on the turn (if so, how much?)? or was a check raise the best option (how should i have sized that?)?

Cawley 11-27-2007 01:46 AM

Re: BEAT: I am running horribly

Yeah i think as it was played you maybe could of got him off it but the way it went down just a cooler.
