please read if you are a supernova

it appears there are now a ton of supernovas on pokerstars. in the past i would have wanted the weekly $50,000 freeroll to be as small as possible but at this point it doesn't matter anymore since there are also a bunch of satellite qualifiers for the tourney as well. so it would be nice if i were automatically registered for this freeroll every week, and the monthly 100k freeroll. here's the email I sent to support:

Hello,

I have a request regarding the weekly $50,000 freeroll. As a supernova, I have no reason not to play in this tournament every week. It would be nice if I were automatically registered for this freeroll each week rather than having to register on Friday or Saturday weekly. Thanks for listening to my suggestion!

If you feel the same way take a few seconds and send this email off to support. There's really no reason they can't get this done!

This would just create even more sitouts during the freeroll

Re: please read if you are a supernova

Yeah, this would be dumb as there are a LOT of Supernovas who don't even play in this tourney.

My reason for not playing is [censored] donkaments.

And it would just make more people sitout.

you guys are so lame. doesn't even matter anyway. i dunno why everyone thinks there are "a lot" of supernovas who don't play this thing. i don't buy that. it can't be more than 100.

I played in a tournament that did that. At one point there was only 1 active player and myself at our table. For the first minutes there was never more then 5 active players.

Prop bet? We'll get Scotty to settle it after the details are worked out. How much would you like to wager?

haha wow... it can't be more than 100 he says? you will lose that bet. i've been a supernova for like 2 years and i don't think i've ever played a single freeroll.

10K bet that there are way more then 100 supernovas. Give me odds and I'll take that there are over 1000 supernovas.

I Think Scotty last said there were like ~1400.

I'm pretty sure I read that less then 66% play them.

Please don't title your post "please read if you are a supernova" if you are posting something like this. At least mention what the thread is about in the title (unless it's actually important). Thanks.

I've missed the majority of supernova freerolls in 2007... that's what happens when you get a girlfriend though.

Yes. I believe that Scottyy has mentioned on here that about 1/3 of SN's actually play in the freerolls.

Less than 100 actually skipping these things? No way and not even close.

We really should be starting a thread asking for a way to eliminate/opt out of the freerolls and get something else in return. That would actually be a good idea. Kindof amazes me that Stars hasn't already done this.

I wish they would combine all the freerolls and have 1 monthly 400k freeroll.

we already had a gigantic thread about this that also included all the various complaints people have about not being available or interested in the freerolls, etc etc as well as other possible alternative solutions besides the simple 'opting out' option which I would wholly support.

Hello,

I have a request regarding the weekly $50,000 freeroll. As a supernova, I have no reason to play in this tournament, in particular due to its poor prizepool/entrants ratio and dreadful scheduling. It would be nice if there were an alternative means of compensation for those who find no value in this yawnfest. Thanks for listening to my suggestion!

We have well over 2000 Supernovas as of today.

Re: please read if you are a supernova

Don't forget the non-US residents who due to time differences couldn't make the freerolls even if they wanted to, like me. Personally, I wish Poker Stars would maybe once a month put one of them on a good time for Asia, but I understand that there probably aren't many Supernovas outside of US/Canada/Europe. But Japan is only one hour different from Australia, so an occasional nod our way wouldn't hurt. ;-) Anyway, as it is now, I've never been able to play in one of the freerolls.

Scottyy 09-30-2007 07:33 AM

Re: please read if you are a supernova

Which would you rather have for 2008?

$50,000 weekly freerolls as they run today

or

2,000 FPP monthly Supernova bonus - 500 FPPs to clear $100
every Supernova would have the option to purchase once a month

Henry17 09-30-2007 08:21 AM

Re: please read if you are a supernova

I think I'd vote for Option B.

I play the freerolls but don't really try. Saturday is for NCAA football wagering.

Re: please read if you are a supernova

I should have added a third option

move the $50,000 event to Sundays

Re: please read if you are a supernova

Given there are over 2000 Supernovas yet just over 1000 play the freeroll I think B is a given for all of them. $1200/year is better then nothing.

If staying with freerolls. I at least would prefer one $200k monthly over the 4 $50ks. A $650k every 3 months would even be better for me but I don't know if there would be much support for that.

I'd prefer the bonus. I would happily forego the bonus if you guys are confident these freerolls help to bring in business and keep business, however in my uninformed opinion I kind of doubt these freerolls have much of an impact in that regard.

Option B kinda sucks to be honest. I'd probably rather have the freeroll.

Any chance that the freeroll money could be doubled because there will probably be double the Supernovas this year? If it was a 100K freeroll people would care a lot more. PS don't move it to Sunday

Re: please read if you are a supernova

Why not move it to different days/times of the month? That would be a lot fairer to the non-US Supernovas, since as of now most tournaments are run with the U.S. time zones in mind.
