multiaccounters caught?

I heard JJprodigy got finally [censored] on ftp for multiaccounting, which he has been doing for some time and that they locked a bunch of accounts including stealthmunk and seized all sorts of funds.

If this is true, I applaud FTP for taking the proper actions against multiaccouting scum. Can anyone provide some details?

Perhaps this interest stems from the fact that I often see his name mentioned in sort of a poker-god-like sense, a poker Buddha, if you will, who has reached a state of Hold 'Em enlightenment that few will ever attain - Is this true? Is his understanding for the game really that profound? What makes him so good and such a, well, prodigy?

which has led everyone to assume that everyone is still multi accounting. Even though the incident just involved JJ taking over YTIU account for some reason I probably just skipped over, seemed like he had to leave for some reason and just had a friend take over.

Which of course led to everyone declaring they are against multi accounting. A couple of people decided to stoke the fire by pointing out that multi accounting was not easy to detect even though that had nothing to do with this particular incident.

Long story short

1. People still hate multi accounters
2. Apparently JJProdigy is quite good
3. Lost in all of this is how good of a job FTP is doing with security

I do not agree with this. Their policy will surely close the account of at least one innocent. Did they confiscate stealthmunk's money?

Re: multiaccounters caught?

Cliffs Notes

2+2 poster StealthMunk, who was apparently staked in the past by JJProdigy, let JJ use his FTP account to 'finish' some tournaments, and subsequently had said account closed.

Stealth calls out FTP security in a post at P5s, and claims he'll get a new PC IP etc and be playing the next day. In his post he states that "JJ must have been up to no good."

P5s relives the Zeejustin/JJProdigy saga of a few years back, as many realize their heros might actually be just one person.

P5s poster BRsavage writes letter to FTP directing them to above thread, advising them that Stealth plans to circumvent FTP security in some way.

Stealthmunk, posting as YourTimeIsUp on P5 (supposedly an old 2+2 name JJ used to post under) offers to "Take all of BR's money, and leave his children homeless/starving etc" (Not sure, post was deleted by p5s crack censorship team within minutes)

JJ Prod's old name here was "The Time is Up"

And FTP's support is [censored] horrible. Read like every thread in the zoo ever. They're great at locking accounts, and horrible at unlocking them or even telling people why.

This has nothing to do with ZJ beyond the fact that once JJ Prod got busted somebody tipped off the sites that ZJ was doing the same thing.

I wrote them an email, lets just see what their response is first. Are people not allowed to play on their own accounts at my house or vice versa? Like micon said there are about 500 other people that have played on other peoples accounts, and if i remmeber correctly when noles pulled up the rules it stated that you were allowed to occasionally play on other peoples accounts. If this was against the rules then why only ban me, what about all the others who have done the same thing? If this is a new rule I was not aware of it, and will obviously abide by it from now on. I will keep you posted

Noles added:
"This is very true. Back when I played a lot on stars, and played a lot with neverwin and I'll call them "the crew" I complained to stars about them playing on each others accounts against me.

We normally played HU, so it was tough for me to develop a style against any one account because I had no clue who was actually playing it at that given time.

Stars pretty much blew off my complaint as if it was perfectly fine they were doing this. This was the second reason why I took all my money off stars in January (I think).

After neteller went down and stars rubbed me the wrong way by not protecting the integrety of the game, I decided it was time to take a break.

It very much surprises me that they have changed stances so drastically since I stopped playing. Wonder what happened to have this happen...or maybe it's that they didn't give a [censored] about my complaint."

Hello Eric,

Greetings from PokerStars.

During the course of an internal review it has come to our attention

access.
Additionally, we are still pending receipt of the following documents

were never received:

1. A clear scan of your driver's license, or any other valid
government
issued picture ID; and

2. A clear scan of your last utility bill (telephone, gas, water, or
electric) indicating your name, address and statement date.

Please send these scans to security@pokerstars.com. Alternatively, you

may also send the documents via fax to:

My extent of any account activity between Dustin and I is this: 9 months ago when I was balling we had a few 10k+ transfers between us, trading between FTP and stars. I arrived in LA Thursday, sold some chips to NW on Friday. I went to his house to pick up the cash and transfered him $$$ using his computer. I was logged onto my account at his house for maybe 45 seconds and never played a hand. We sent another 2k back and forth before the savagegamble fiasco a couple days ago. Pokerstars .... it's FANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNTASTIC!

Not all of us were sharing accounts. Mine got locked down for transfers and for being logged in at his house for 45 seconds to send a transfer. Guess my acct. picked up the scarlet letter attached to Dustin's IP. It doesn't seem like they're only going after people who were multi-accounting, but rather anybody who has has even a remote past with neverwin.

It appears that JJ is some sort of shady master mind, backing 50% of the top tourney players, and multi accounting on a massive scale.

He appears to be aided and abetted by a squad of minions who do his evil bidding in return for cold hard cash.

I wish I could hate on him, but to tell you the truth he seems quite a bad ass and by all accounts he is only 12.

Re: multiaccounters caught?

The mods locked my thread so I'll post this here:

One aspect of just-banned multi-accounters on Stars which I'm not sure anyone has touched on yet:

I've long been suspicious of collusion amongst various top players. Could certain sets of players who know each other all nabbed for multi-accounting be evidence of an even larger crime ?

Works like this: A group of players collude in highly fluid manner. It's not about the same 2 or 3 players always sitting at the same table together. It's about jumping around to tables where one of your group is sitting, waiting for the right setup, hitting it, waiting a bit and then one of you leaving.

If a group is colluding in this manner and it's going well, greed might lead to sharing accounts. If group members are unavailable for any reason (sleep, sick, out), other members have the ability to log-in using their accounts and (1) put their money to work (2) distract suspicion by not overly concentrating their collusive activities on a single account.

Additionally, the $ variance of the accounts could lead to certain accounts quite robusto, others less robusto. Long-term you need to consistently bring the less robusto accounts up to snuff so they can jump into the most games.

Moving $ around with withdrawal/deposit is slow and tedious. Player-to-player transfers are probably the most heavily monitored by the poker sites. Overall, the best balance of speed and stealth is to chip dump from the more robust accounts into the less robust accounts.

I'm sure there are other reasons why members of a colluding group would want to share accounts.

Re: multiaccounters caught?

After going through the threads on p5's (my head now hurts) and actionjeff's thread here on twoplustwo. It seems like there is one fact that still stands out, there are still players out there that are multi accounting and making a living off of cheating.

These cheaters are killing online poker. Online poker has been going through enough with the U.S. already trying to ban it, and every week it seems like it has been more difficult for the small time player to make a deposit.

There are players out there right now that may not be multi-accounting themselves, but they do know of peers that are doing just that.

Cheating is wrong, back in the day when you cheated in cards in the old west you were shot.

Much more here is at stake:

1. The fish are going to see all these posts about this subject and say "I knew it was rigged" and stop playing online. So we lose some fish.

2. This is just giving more ammo to the powers that be that want to see online poker gone forever.

I urge all the online players that know of someone multi-accounting or cheating by useing someone elses account that was paid off by the cheater, to e-mail the online poker sites and blow the whistle on these players that are killing the sport that you play & love everyday.

The sites can not police everyone, it is up to us as the players to make sure our sport stays clean.
