25/50 HU Super Deep

Villain and I have lots of history, which is basically me owning him over and over. He views me as an overaggro donk (which is probably true). The only real pots he takes off me are when he hits some weird draw or super slow plays something and I bluff off my chips. He check/calls too much, and I'm pretty sure I have him figured out (for the most part). I'm down about 5k at this point.

I didn't push the turn because i was concerned over how much fold equity and actual equity i had and i figured to get paid some of the time if i hit.

Re: 25/50 HU Super Deep

I like your line fine. I would 3bet bigger on the flop, at least to like 2500 or so just because your hand is so sick sick big, and because I am having a ton of trouble putting your opponent on a hand other than like bottom two, or AT or something. Also because if he views you as just a dumb, obtuse raisebot then he thinks he is "inducing" something with his crafty minraise on the flop, and you should go ahead and oblige him.

Re: 25/50 HU Super Deep

It seems really awkward to be 3 betting to 2k on this flop. You are waaayyyy likely ahead, and I think he folds to that raise a lot. If he calls you are drawing to a club or 8.

I like calling flop, and c/r turn. If he checks behind, bet river. If he calls C/R, check non 8 or club rivers. Looking to get it in on a club or 8.

dude, chuck norris never needed mental math, he'd just stare at the computer screen and the other guy would do what chuck wanted to do because nobody messes with "UPay4MyKarate"

Re: 25/50 HU Super Deep

id raise flop to a little more, 2500 or something, bet turn 4k (call shove) and shove river if you improve - like you did, probably check-call if it blanks because the way he played the hand hes gonna have a draw often enough to make it profitable.
as played i really dont like that river bet of yours, you should either shove and hope he has some 2 pair he can call you with or check-call depending if hes bluffy and good enough to turn a hand like A8cc into a bluff

Lots of ways to play this, but I think your line is fine except for the river which I would always shove w/ ur image.

15K is not "super deep".

after you bet3bet flop and c/c turn (which is just a weird sequence) i dont like your river bet size. shove it in and let him be a hero.

I like your line, now shove river..

Re: 25/50 HU Super Deep

against GG (i'm pretty sure he's villain) I like flop and turn, though I would like a bigger flop 3bet, and you know he'll call it with probably any pair. turn is fine, it sets you up to make a nice river bet if you improve. on the river, i'd definitely bet at least 5500. He already thinks you bluff way too much, the board looks scary, and you did just hit a gutshot. I think he'll pay you off with almost anything that's not a missed draw.

Re: 25/50 HU Super Deep

what's your plan with this line on a J river? what about a T? what about a total blank like 4d?

ikestoys 10-11-2007 04:54 PM

Re: 25/50 HU Super Deep

J and a blank is a c/f against this guy, hes not very good at thin vbets or bluffs
T is a bet i guess? althought its pretty thin

Re: 25/50 HU Super Deep

I don't get why you'd check-fold a J? Is 8x that big a part of his range?

because hes not betting a non 8 hand and he probably isn't calling a non 8 hand

Right, so how is that different than a T?

because he's honest to god dumb enough to look me up with A9 or 98 or 79 (yes thats three pair) or an over pair even

yeah my image isn't very goot

Phresh 10-11-2007 06:20 PM

Re: 25/50 HU Super Deep

Right. Again, how is that different than JT? Your 2 pair beats every other 2 pair and you think he's calling with all of them.

1.)aejones is on abso? if so who?
2.)gp, the only times you've pushed me to play HU is on turbo tables when i'm playing 5 other tables. its def -ev to play you HU compared to the other random donks.

I'm not really sure why you are such an ass tbh gp.

Re: 25/50 HU Super Deep

How did the hands shake out?? It looks like he has two Jacks and is trying to control the pot with a small raise on flop. He wants to see a cheap turn while still being able to control the pot. He also min raises to represent a set down the line if he so chooses. I would raise a little more on the flop so u can semi bluff all in with a blank turn. Or wait on the turn and check, then reraise all in to his bet. He will have to fold such a wide range to that play.

ikestoys 10-12-2007 01:02 AM

Re: 25/50 HU Super Deep

villain called river with 97 (lolz, i hit my gutshot).

i know it goes against what i said about villain earlier, but he put me on an 8 or flushdraw there guaranteed.

villain is ggouoyd25 on abso btw, and it seems like i'm the only person who can beat him, because he runs insanely hot against everyone else.
