Your last words....

Hey OOT

So I was reading this page: http://www.geocities.com/athens/acro...37/realidx.htm

...and I get to thinking - if you could envisage your death, what would you imagine your last words to be? So I put it to you:

a) How you imagine yourself dying, and
b) What would be the last thing you would say?

I say post both of these things because I think that in a lot of circumstances b) would be pretty dependent on a).

(Assume for this excersise that you can choose what you will say on your deathbed, even though I think that in actuality you would probably say some random crap that you wouldn't be able to think of until the time came.)

i think that dementia will happen to everyone, given a long enough period of time. i've heard of many studies that say keeping your brain active does wonders in delaying it, perhaps even to the point that it will never happen. VARIED stuff though, not just the same crossword day-in day-out. stuff like the game "brain age" on the nintendo ds was inspired by that sort of research.

My favorite last words are "Thomas Jefferson..." uttered by John Adams. Political rivals, both were dying on July 4, 1826, and they were trying to outlast each other. Jefferson died a few hours before Adams did, but he died thinking he'd succumbed first.

I think his last words were "Thomas Jefferson survives."

That is some crazy [censored], though. It was on July 4th, exactly 50 years earlier that the Declaration of Independence was passed--writted by Jefferson and defended by Adams. They went on to be fierce political rivals for the presidency after, hence the last words--Adams claimed he would outlive Jefferson.
