GODAMNIT I DIDNT WANT TO BE ANGRY
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
i'm going against the grain. even before reading the description of villain i don't mind the fold...
i wouldn't actually fold this, but i like the fact that you were able to. you're beating a butchered AK or AA by UTG, or slight chance of combo draw... the only puzzling aspect is his flop check... i expect to see 99/88. the fold is made even better by the fact that BB is left to act. |

Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
uh I put him on a range that includes AA and AK and snap call
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
this is fine, although your turnbetsize is [censored] up
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
I actually don't think this fold is that bad either, we're [censored] pretty often by UTG, and BB sometimes will show up with a set as well.
Turn bet size sucks also, obv. |
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
I hate the turn bet size but I can understand the fold. I can't see a solid player raise here with AA/AK (especially after the flop), maybe AhKh because he smelled weakness on your part and does not respect the fish.
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
SNAP FOLD
in theory. |
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
you too can have a bad beat story, it only would cost you a half a buy in. I don't fold sets my self. bad fold, what did you expect to hit with 66?
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
"folding a set"
Cannot compute. |
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
Man what the hell are you guys talking about? The flop gets checked through on a dry board, and then a tight, straightforward pre-flop raise/caller COLD SHOVES into two raises. Plus, the guy who 3bet PF and then min-raised the turn is left to act behind the OP.
What does UTG have given PF actions? A lot of small/medium pocket pairs, Is he going to flat call a tiny 3bet with AA , with Hero behind getting good set odds? Never. AK? Maybe occasionally. Flop, he checks through a lot of pocket pairs, and sets sometimes. He bets AK most of the time. Turn, he's forced to raise up his good hands when Hero and BB are trading small bets, in case there is a draw out (which there now are, given the turn card). He bluffs never, given Hero and BB are betting tiny on the turn. He might have gotten here with AK, but we certainly can't give the AK combos even close to full weight against the set combos in Villain's range. Hero's getting about $610 to $315 on the call, with BB to act behind, I think it's a fold. |
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
ya for realz
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
this really isnt a bad fold, i dont see what anyones talking about here
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
I could get on board with this fold if the turn lead was a legit size, at least 3/5ths pot. As played your hand looks like junk and the pfRRer could be minraising anything from JJ to AQ.
What did you want/expect to happen when you led for 1/3 pot? I can't imagine bet-folding was part of the plan. Your broken-wing bet got you action, now put the money in. Surf |
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
good fold but turn betsize sux
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
fold pre if you are going to fold.
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
why do people use that flawed reasoning so often? preflop he didn't know UTG was going to check behind flop and then go nuts on turn after a bet and raise. his line looks ridiculously strong. not totally advocating the fold, but i'll say that much
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
this is not even close to not being close, and I think I like the fold but still can't decide.

He called a reraise with 66 and then didn't get the money in with a set. This is lol. Horrific all around. |
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
i cant believe people are actually debating the merits of this fold wtf?? fold pre session if you are going to play a set like this in a 3 bet pot 100bb's deep
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
good fold fish
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
fold is fine but god your turn bet is just atrocious
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
i can't even stress how fast i'd press the call button. You throw out a weak 1/3 pot bet and immediately put him on the nuts when he raises it?
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
your turn bet is absoluetly awful.
If you made a real bet and the following action happened, i'd fold pretty easy. As played, i would call it off as a punishment for betting the turn like a retard. |

If we can gt away from set-over-set, shouldn't that mean we're going to make more money overall, not less? |
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
It's pretty close, but we are fckd by KK/99/88 so often here...I just can't put UTG on a hand that we beat, besides JhTh a retarded bluff.
I'd probably call unless i am really focused, but i wouldn't be very surprised to see a hand that crushes us. BB can have a hand as well btw. |
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
If you donk bet the turn like that you should be folding because you dont deserve the pot.
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4NL
this is not good
|
Re: if you want to be angry...READ THIS POST: folded set 3bet pot-2,4N
I think UTG has exactly 88 or KK. If he is a solid reg (I think he has a CR video), he isnt playing AA/AK this way.
But cmon, bet the turn like a man. I think that commits you but thats fine. |
