QQ facing overbet shove, 7.5/15 deep

Unknown villain sits with $1665, first hand:

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to cowpig [Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]]
cowpig raises to $45
villain calls $30
*** FLOP *** [7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]] (Pot $90)
villain bets $15
cowpig has 15 seconds left to act
cowpig raises to $95
villain raises to $1,620.05, and is all in

$1525 more, $280...

this looks either like 89 clubs or set looking to b3b i think i can find a fold

Re: QQ facing overbet shove, 7.5/15 deep

IMHO either a set or nut-draw.
Given the possibility of a set and bad odds for an improvement I say that's a fold.

guys wtf when is this ever a set

Re: QQ facing overbet shove, 7.5/15 deep

set? when villain got top set and puts hero on a flush draw or a lower set.
or when villain got middle set or bottom set and puts hero on flush draw

Its more likely T7 than it is a set. Dunno wtf he's on doing this, since its his first hand and you have no reads, I fold here. Can't him doing it with much you're in good shape against but then again who knows.

this is the easiest hand ever,

I don't care to discuss why though.

Re: QQ facing overbet shove, 7.5/15 deep

If villian is really this bad (regardless of what he holds now) better to wait 10 hands, figure out what he is doing, and then get all his money?

Are blinds 7.5/15? If villian only has 1600 thats not deep is it? Also is this HU? I'm confused by HH.

I fold cause I hate guessing, and usually bad villians are easy to figure out/exploit later.

Thats my thoughts. I'm not great at deep stacks, but this looks like a massive combo draw.

this is a discussion board...do you understand what that means? please do not waste our time with your posts anymore True...some of us are here to actually discuss hands...that being said without any reads i think we are either flipping or crushed. i fold till i get a better read

On first look i thought board was mono. Is this easier/harder on a mono flop (with Qs obv)

I think vs a guy who sat with 1600 this is a call. He never ever ever plays a set like this.

wtf you guys this is heads up, since when is this a set? and for people saying massive combo draw if you mean massive ANYTHING draw like any naked flush draw or straight draw then i'd be inclined to agree. you deifnitely see T7 sometimes but you also see AT or KT since people have no idea how to play heads up so they think "top pair, ok arr in"

this is such an easy call to me...

oh the irony.

fwiw, I fold this so fast and definitely think villain can have AA most likely a set. Unless he does this often I wouldn't call. Also I don't think 100bb is deep and if it's a 200bb max game+ then I guess he is a fish and this line is defintiely representative of a strong hand.

your experience of situations like this doesn't really warrant responding....

Re: QQ facing overbet shove, 7.5/15 deep

everytime i tell myself this can't be a set........... I think his line is super strong and he's likely a fish, I'm pretty sure I'd fold here.

edit: just noticed this was 100bb deep (not 200 like I thought for some reason) and think this is much closer to a call since people do all sorts of stupid [censored] HU.

Stealthy 07-30-2007 03:20 PM

Re: QQ facing overbet shove, 7.5/15 deep

OP is not saying they were deep-stacked but that the table was a deep-stack table. Max buyin is 200BB and villain brought in for a little over 100BB. Not sure how, if at all, that changes responses.

There could be an arguement that the weird amount could be a desperate tilty shot with an entire role .......

I think the super tiny bet followed by huge raise is a lot scarier than just a CRAI

If it were a CRAI i would def call. I think i still call here but its closer

Exactly...this line says he's dying to get the money in. If you knew more about this guy you could tell if hed be dying to get it in with TP or something, but since he's unknown, I say fold, and I wouldn't even feel bad about it.

Re: QQ facing overbet shove, 7.5/15 deep

i think this is really close. in addition to the hand, the fact that even if he doubles, you can still have him covered is definitely a +. otoh, he is a fish who bought in for random amount and might leave immediately after this hand.

that being said, i think it's prob really close but i would call. it just sucks when he has AA and not 89.

i would... i dont know. call probably. id be kinda interested in results for this one yo.

Re: QQ facing overbet shove, 7.5/15 deep

For some reason I thought it was 200bbs deep (maybe the title "deep"?). In that case I would fold but seeing as how it's 100bbs only I'd definitely call this.
