My guess is that this would be a hacker, but who knows? My personal experiences with Mike have all been positive and all his interactions with fans that I have witnessed have seemed genuine, so that's all I have to go on.

@sqwisssssss : Third party if you mean that it came from Mike Matusow's brother, Scott, who was maintaining a site promoting Mike. I still have the original RSS feed of the post in my Google Reader. It's printed word for word.

@sapol: Google Reader dates the post as being Oct 25. How is this old news?

fwiw, i'm pretty familiar with the blog in question and with scott matusow's writing style (see this, this, and this), and i'm confident that scott wrote the entry in bill's block quote.

The later posts are all signed Mike. The ones before this happened are all signed Scott.

I'm guessing that it's got nothing to do with his being a gambler or drug user/dealer. He was all of those things last week. Presumably it's one of those family falling out things.

I read the blog as well and the style does seem to be his (I know longer . . . ).

I don't know if this alone is enough to make him scum, but he has been known to engage in player abuse, which certainly ain't on the good guy side of the scales. We tend to give him a pass for it around here because he's such entertaining TV, but I'm still not a big fan of player abuse.

Anybody remember the "big man, very little balls" comment (or however it went) to Raymer? Pure class that man.

needling greg raymer is a 2/10 on the scum scale IMO.

I'm sure if Greg was asked how he feels about MM, he would say "mike is mike".

That is just who he is, and mike never tries to hurt ppl on purpose, if he ever comes off looking like he trying on hurt someone, he is prolly loaded on blow, or having an adrenaline rush from poker.

I still fail to see a shred of evidence that proves me wrong.

Scum is like the absolute poker guy who willingly [censored] everyone he could. That is scum. Talking trash at the table in a playful manner is not scum.

What if that was just some random guy that ppl would never see again instead of greg? no one would care. I think ppl overreacted b/c greg is such a class act, and didnt deserve being needled, but IMO MM is just being mike, and he really does respect the guys he plays w/ (including greg).

The fallow up year when greg finished like 28th or something in the ME, mike went on to say how it was one of the greatest achievement in poker history, and how bad he felt for greg when he busted b/c some donkey played some trash hand and sucked out on greg.

So ya, IMO from what I have seen, MM is not scum compared to fellow gamblers. Once again, there could be details i am overlooking.

He borrowed money from someone on a short term loan, dodged him for over a month and when the guy confronted him in FTP chat because Mike wouldnt take his calls Mike basically turned round and told him he wouldnt pay him because he was being to insistant in being paid back.

Im sure this is just the tip of the iceberg, ive heard much more rumoury stuff along the same lines where he has dodges the smaller creditors.

This is ignoring the fact he is a convicted drug dealer.

I like Mike no matter what anybody says. He's not much better/worse than they typical losing degenerate poker player. I hope he gets his act together one day because otherwise I think it is obvious that he will either commit suicide or have a heart attack. I also think he will never win his weight loss bet with Ted Forrest. For a person who has impulse control issues food can be the most difficult thing to beat. Good luck Mike.

I saw Mike at the Ceasar's classic and he looked healthy. I'm not doubting for a second he hasn't indulged in a little blow, but who in that lifestyle hasn't...as far as him treating his fans like crap, he took a pic with my brother and several others during one of the breaks and was very approachable. Not one person of good standing in poker has ever accused him of being a cheat or not good on a loan from what i've heard. His brother on the other hand, if you've read any of his myspace or matusow truth blogs, seems like a leaching ahole.
