Perfect example of what happens when BBV4L mentality is allowed to spread site wide.

Also, I've permanently banned BobOjedaFan. I am sick of him, he has been warned enough times, that was the last straw for me. As I wrote in his notes, an admin can obviously reduce it if they want, and I will also allow POG mods to reduce it if they want, but if it is a POG mod I expect them to talk to me before doing it.

Nice. Whether or not strat mods think that their valued contributors should be given extra rope in OT, valued POG posters certainly should NOT be allowed to troll other forums relentlessly simply because they are superstars in that clique.

As for "Perfect example of what happens when BBV4L mentality is allowed to spread site wide", I haven't seen an increase in willful stupidity in Sports at all, so think you may be projecting that.

Unless that thread got super edited, I see one guy who you guys already banned trolling and everybody else owning him. I don't get the BBV4L line at all. I think you're off base on that one. People were doing stuff like this well before BBV4L even existed.

He, dead and I all went to the same school and had the same IP. He also has the same trollish styles. However, Im pretty happy with this ban.

sooooooooo hard not to troll the [censored] out of that POG thread about his banning, jesus christ. like the site is going to refrain from banning one of its biggest trolls for racism just because he is coordinating a game of internet hide the sausage or whatever.

people sitewide need to stop sticking up for their forum regulars that act like retarded trolls everywhere else. if an OOT poster trolls your forum please feel free to ban him, i have never and will never complain about another mod trying to keep his forum clean.

The IP for on campus 137.238.0.5, but we do have unique IPs. Its a small school I dont think there are a lot of 2p2ers. He graduated so hes probably at home so its probably from optimum online.

oddly, i can't find the Dead account? was it entirely removed, or did my sweep just miss it (happens, meh)?

i gotta say, one of the stupid things that i feel does have strongest roots in bb4l is the "omg this person was banned so unfair omg omg" movement, and those people actually feeling like they have some sway. there's probably much better way of dealing with this sort of stuff, like say: move one thread to atf, lock or delete all subsequent threads. the follow up stuff like bumping every one of a banned poster's threads should be dealt with pretty severely as well.

i think bbv has exacerbated it, but there were some 'free so-and-so' threads before that too. it's also a product of having so many OT subforums that are fairly isolated - people just can't imagine how their favorite poster could be so bad in another forum.

I know the guy is pissing you off and everything, man, but be careful not to allow the fact that he's a douche who harasses you on IM influence your modding decisions. (Not that I have any problem with the guy staying permabanned, or anything.)
