Milton Bradley you are a complete Tool

Bradley Tears ACL in arguement.

He tore his ACL in an arguement with an umpire. He is out for the season/post-season/spring training and most likely the start of next year. Padres fans must want to choke him.

So do the Padres make the playoffs now without him? They are 1 game up in the loss column on the Phils and 2 on the Rockies.

I was wondering when someone would post about this. This is such a great development in the Milton Bradley saga. What a career.

You can't disrespect Milton and not expect him to go apesh!t.

But hey! The Pads will win the WS and all will be forgiven.

this is one of the most awesome things that have ever happened. afterward he was acting like it was the ump's fault he got hurt and he was going to sue.

Yeah, anyone that hasn't seen the interview that is in the ESPN link watch it please. Bradley seems like he is lying about everything he is saying, especially at the end.

Can Bud Black be fired for not making the playoffs and tearing Bradley's ACL?

Uh, the ump allegedly used racial slurs, and multiple people have backed him up on this.

EDIT: Not that I think Milton Bradley is some peace keeper.

I don't think this is the case, and I find it hard to believe that an umpire would be that stupid in any case. I live in SD and watching the local sports wrap last night Bradley said the ump called him a POS, which the 1st base coach backed up, adding that he'd never seen a player baited like that by an umpire before. Sounds like there's plenty of blame to go around here.

It's pretty pathetic that with all the anger counseling that Bradley has surely gone through that he still can't handle these situations without losing it, but with his team down 5 runs in the 8th it seemed like a pretty good time to vent if he had to. No one could have anticipated the ACL.

This was something that I thought of when I first saw this, mostly because of the huge explosion that occured. I hadn't heard or read anything that said this, but to be honest I haven't really gone out of my way to read up on it. The first base coach didn't look to happy either, though.

Just Bradley's interview was not the best. I know there are some words that can be said to certain individuals that can be catolysts, and I will never defend someone that uses language to bait a person. With that said, I'm sure everyone knows Bradley could have handled this better, called over the crew chief(or if he was the crew chief, the home plate umpire) or something else that I can't seem to come up with. But, I'm sure it could have been handled better. I'm sure if Bradley could go back he would do something different, this Pads team is gonna miss him.

BTW, I'm seeing the Mike Gundy interview for the first time right now, I wish I made this thread, "which blowup was better" Gundy or Bradley.

The injury is complete freak. But, after the Milledge explosion earlier in the weak there is no doubt in my mind that Bradley will be suspended. A 3 game suspension would have been nearly just as bad with just a week left.

Re: Milton Bradley you are a complete Tool

I thought Bradley sounded fairly well composed and made some good points in the interview after. Also he seemed very aware of his reputation and how it related to the situation, which is more than you can say for a lot of troublemakers.

From what the first base coach said, it sounds like the ump was pretty out of line. I think the league should subpoena the first baseman as a neutral party to see if what the ump said.

I actually feel sorry for the guy, I think he's really trying to not have any more blowups and it sounds like he was totally baited.

Todd Helton's stance would help, but Buster said today he wasn't sure if Helton would divulge information as he would fear the reprocussions from the referees.

This reminds me of the time when Mike McMahon (then of the Packers) jammed his head into the wall in celebration and sprained his neck.

Too funny.

This still comes second to Bill Grammattica injuring his knee while celebrating a kick in the first half, but only because he was a kicker.

I can't find in on the internet, but I'm pretty sure Bud Black either got his nose broken, or accidentally broke someone else's nose in a celebration after one of the Royals' playoff wins. Dude is cursed.

(still searching)

Edit: nevermind - it was Mike Jones after game 6 of the 85 WS. Knew it was a common simple name. I bet Bud Black egged him on somehow.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985_World_Series

Game 6 hero (and former Cardinal) Dane Iorg got his nose broken when his teammates, led by 230 pound (104 kg) pitcher Mike Jones, mobbed him after his game winning hit.

This whole thing is LOL no matter who's fault it is.

By the way, do any of you baseball nerds know what John Hirschbeck said to Roberto Alomar to get spit at? I heard it was a pretty terrible epithet or baiting comment of some sort but never heard what it actually was. I was guessing he called him "gay" and that Alomar loves pole but it's just a guess.

Re: Milton Bradley you are a complete Tool

Hearing all the commentary and watching the vid makes me lol - who gets hurt arguing with a ref? - but its still kind of sad. The 1B standing right there can't hide behind being scared if there was a legit reason for MB to be pissed. If the ref was out of line, he should say so. If the ref wasn't out of line, he should say so. If he can't decide, he should say so.

I guess its easier said than done, but it really seems like hearing an official call a player a [censored] or darky or whatever but not saying anything about it is about as bad as saying it yourself.

Bradley's mistake was letting the ump be successful in baiting him. The ump was the tool for throwing gas on the fire

If Helton doesn't talk he's a piece of garbage. If MB's story gets backed up the umpire should no longer have a job. Seriously, if there was ever a job where ego was the enemy it'd be professional umpire/ref/or whatever, yet every umpire seems like a fat-headed, egotistical douche. Weird.

Tearing his ACL is karma for being such an ***hole. Sure, the ump coulda been way outta line and needs to be disciplined/fired for it, but he's still a knob for injuring himself during his umpteenth childish, tempertantrum.

Good riddance. MLB does not need this assclown in the news.
