Don't Make Me Wait by Locksley.
I'm not too into the indie music scene so I don't know how popular these guys are, but I can't stop listening to it. It's their first full-length album and came out about a month ago. Very light, catchy stuff. Sounds a lot like The Kinks or early Beatles stuff. |

Dressy Bessy - Electrified The High Dials - A New Devotion The Jessica Fletchers - Less Sophistication Les Sans Culottes - Faux Realism The Rosebuds - The Rosebuds Make Out All of these are kinda indiepop oriented, and all are well and truly awesome. Okay, a couple bonuses, just because I can't contain myself: The Woggles - Ragged But Right The Coral - The Coral The Minders - A Bright Guilty World Oh yeah, and quadruple props to Quinn Warren for mentioning Mass Romantic. Only reason it's not on my list is, it's already on his. |

Troll post:
Two days ago, you make your education seem like a joke in the ElD Forum: [ QUOTE ] I went to private high school. The only reason i could do so was because I scored very highly on the entrance exam and was lucky enough to get one of their few scholarships. [/ QUOTE ] ... [ QUOTE ] As for the whole saving for education thing, I think I would save for private high school (public before that), and if you're child is smart and works hard, he should be able to get scholarships after that. Archers of Loaf - White Trash Heroes [/ QUOTE ] No, no, no - if you're going Archers of Loaf, you've *got* to go with Icky Mettle. One of the best indie rock albums ever made. Easily their best one. Amazing. Classic. I'll throw it on right now, in fact...nice. -bb. |

Frank - Blues Run The Game - another great folkie who never got too much attention past his 60's fame - sounds a bit like Nick Drake - 5. - Kate Rusby - 10 - rb |

The Thorns - The Thorns [/ QUOTE ] That's weird, I had never heard of them and I just got the CD from a friend like 2 hours ago. Whoever mentioned Amos Lee - Amos Lee is right, that's really really good. Matthew Good Band - The Audio of Being; is one of my favorite rock CDs of the last 10 years, never really caught on here though. Drive-By Truckers - The Dirty South; I actually don't know how popular or not these guys are - I never run into anyone who's heard of them, but their shows seem to sell out. Kick ass southern rock, Decoration Day is really good too, and A Blessing and a Curse is not bad. Hmm, some others, taking a quick look through my comp for music I had never heard of but had recommended to me that turned out to be really good: Emmet Swimming - Arlington to Boston Flaw - Endangered Species The Slip - Eisenhower |

Re: 5 Favorite Albums that you may not have never heard of before
Jeremiah Freed - Jeremiah Freed (solid, solid rock album).
Dexter Freebish - A Life of Saturdays (solid pop-rock, unknown outside of TX) Leah Andreone - Veiled (chick rock anyone?) Our Lady Peace - Clumsy (not sure how popular this particular album is, but I definitely missed the boat on these guys for a while) Saliva - Back Into Your System (makes me wants to kick things - great workout album) Belle and Sebastian - Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant (chill Brit-pop) Yeah, that's six, but some of my friends would say the chick-rock doesn't count. It's really good though, and one song (Happy Birthday) is sung from the perspective of a baby being born. |
