failed reeses prop bet

i feel very dissapointed, i was only able to eat 18 reeses in 5 minutes, however my only dissagreement with the bet is that i requested they be luke cold, so they would not be sticky, and they were luke warm, but i realize that this is a pretty difficult proposition once i attempted it so i challange bbv4l to attempt and beat my feat, someone took a video so at some point i will be able to post proof, but if someone wants to challange this go for it, however i have a very bad stomach ache, probably because my sodium intake in 5 minutes is eqaull to chugging a normal salt shaker, calories around 1900-2000 and many other absurd ammounts. the challenge is out there beat my 18 reeses peanut butter cups in 5 minutes.

Re: failed reeses prop bet

they tasted fine at the begining but after 10 it was kinda torture. it was 9 normal reeses packages and 4.5 king size reeses packages. but like i said if they would have been luke cold i think i could have done more, they were very sticky in my mouth, go figure warm chocolate and peanut butter. i feel alright however im going to continue drinking. i think one of the problems was that i had taken 13 shots of karkov an 80 proof vodka that costs anywhere from 10-12 dollars for a 1.75 liter and three beers on top of a nice thanksgiving dinner of turkey, mash potatoes and gravy stuffing and of course red kool aid. not trying to make excuses because stomach capacity was not really the problem it was the time it took chewing the sticky delicious treat. but yes i am a failure but at least i attempted it.

Re: failed reeses prop bet

Did you at least keep the leftover ones?

Kirbynator 11-20-2007 02:18 AM

Re: failed reeses prop bet

you mean 18 "bars" ?

siouxbrew 11-20-2007 02:20 AM

Re: failed reeses prop bet

i did, considering that the bet was i pay for the reeses if i could not do it, and if i did it i would recieve 20 dollars. so i have 12 very un appealing reeses sitting on my coffee table right now.

siouxbrew 11-20-2007 02:21 AM

Re: failed reeses prop bet

18 individual cups, they bought two of those large individually wrapped bags, each held 15, so i was attempting to finish 2 large bags in 5 minutes.

edfurlong 11-20-2007 02:22 AM

Re: failed reeses prop bet

Put them in the freezer. My roommate used to buy big bags of them and freeze them and wake up to me passed out on the couch covered in wrappers. It was glorious.

i bet you had the mad pasties after that

siouxbrew 11-20-2007 02:27 AM

Re: failed reeses prop bet

that was my argument, however there was a group of around 15-20 watching me attempt this stunt so i decided against delaying it 10 minutes so they could cool, and dan i attempted this like 40 minutes ago so i will update, possible pics and TR when i do take a [censored].

Re: failed reeses prop bet

okay we need the details of the bet. did you have to unwrap each one sequentially as you ate them?
did you have to finish each one before starting the next?

siouxbrew 11-20-2007 02:31 AM

Re: failed reeses prop bet

lol well my mouth wasnt dry for very long since i took 2 shots within 2 minutes of attempting this. but either way possible TR when i do poop this atrocity out.

siouxbrew 11-20-2007 02:32 AM

Re: failed reeses prop bet

i was able to unwrap the next one while eating the previous one, i was able to only eat one at a time.

That's probably standard in the peanut butter cup prop bet rules book.
Next time gain an edge by trying to negotiate this point.

siouxbrew 11-20-2007 02:39 AM

Re: failed reeses prop bet

im not sure on the standard rules, i made this bet while blacked out 2 nights ago, i was informed of it tonight and obviously not wanting to be a puss i manned up and went through with it, but i really dont think being able to put more than one into your mouth at a time would increase the results much. i really underestimated how sticky and difficult the cups would be to chew and swallow.

apefish 11-20-2007 02:46 AM

Re: failed reeses prop bet

I'm thinking that being able to unwrap as many as you want and then cram them into your mouth while working on unwrapping the next bunch of X gives you an edge.

I have no experience in that method to back me up. It just seems that you gain a slight bit by chewing/swallowing multiple ones.

I could be wrong.
Well refrigerated also likely is a bit easier.

probably +EV though if you don't count the dump factor.

Imagine if you had those starving children in Africa, and you gave them a buffet of whatever foods they wanted but they could only eat for five minutes, what would they do

siouxbrew 11-20-2007 02:52 AM

Re: failed reeses prop bet

yea well apparently i did not make it any easier on myself. i guess when the bet was originally brought up it was 7 minutes and in my drunken state i said eff that i could do that in 5, sooo im pretty sure i wasnt arguing logistics at that point, the begining of my demise imo.

Oh yeah I'm never doing it, I was just pointing out ways one who wants that much stuff in their system could better go about it.

Plus... I always encourage future trip reports on things like this.

Re: failed reeses prop bet

216 grams of carbs, and 180 grams of sugar, 108 total grams of fat, and 36 grams of protein.

hey they have this thing now called 'saying more than one sentence in a single post'. people who aren't trying to pad the post count of their threads often use it. give it a try sometime imo.

PS, these are very good fwiw

Re: failed reeses prop bet

1170 mg of sodium is like 1.17 grams
and salt is sodium chloride and sodium is like half of sodium chloride
So can you eat 2.34 grams of salt easily or not
