folded to villain in CO (23/20/3) good player; villain raises to $4. I look down see A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]; villain has been pretty aggressive in LP, and the blinds are pretty nitty so I bump it up to $14; both blind fold villain calls.

meh, i'd fold, i doubt he is bluffing much there, maybe semibluffing but you are crushed most of the time. if you said he is a good player, you have to suppose he does not have 95o there and hope you fold an ace.

I think you're smoked here a ton and this is a lot closer to a snap fold than a call imo.

I hate the flop check.

it invites this sort of play from him on the turn if he's a good thinking player because your hand looks like 1010-KK now.

As played i would fold.

Funny you should mention that. I snap called and thats exactly what villain held.

My main reason for posting was what do you think of villains play? I haven't played against many .5/1 players that i would give enough credit to fold the turn with KK or QQ; nobody ever folds a weak ace to his line though do they?

never folding. On the flop it's more marginal, but on the turn it's so unlikely he has anything that beats you. I'd call here with KK alot of the time

depends on how it fits into your overall game plan. but in a vacuum i don't think it's that bad. Because it's hard to get 2 more streets of value from a weaker hand which should be your main question.

ur check on the flop makes this a 100% call against a 'thinking' player. i like to bet the flop though so u dont have to be put to this decision. had this been on the flop, it would be tough.

This is really counterintuitive. We have a hand better than the range he perceives us having, why would we fold?

I realised it looked like i was contradicting myself when i posted that.

The reason i fold is because i can't give him credit for being good enough to make a play like with nothing to back it up. It's more likely he's playing AK or a set in this way but after the flop check it makes you feel he could be exploiting you because of the way you played the flop.

I think the flop check just makes the hand a lot more difficult to play.

Yeah i do this a lot too because I want to avoid situations like this where you have to make a big call or fold with a mediocre hand.
