so what\'s next for games on the 360
Assassins Creed and Mass effect aren't very appealing to me. So what is there to look forward to between now and GTA 4?

xbox live arcade games?

Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
I guess UT3, but I would much rather play it on PC.

Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
Nothing ... wait for that new star wars game to come out. Maybe army of 2, but that games not looking so hot. If you feel like you don't have enough games to play between now and then you need to re-evaluate.

Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
If the games that have come out in the last month don't appeal to you, then I doubt anything, on any platform, will.
I'm too busy playing COD4, Mass Effect and GH3 to have time to think about what's coming next. I'm wishing I had more time so I could play Assassins Creed and maybe NFS:ProStreet as well, but I simply don't have enough time. Luckily Rock Band isn't out here in Europe yet, so maybe I can finish some other games before that hits next year. But maybe you'll like Burnout Paradise, Lost Odyssey or Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. Culdcept Saga might be fun as well. |
Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
I've been playing the hell out of COD4 and Battlefield, but it's not gonna last past Dec/Jan I don't think.
Assassin's Creed just doesn't look fun to me and I don't feel like getting real deep into a game like Mass Effect seems to require. It's a casual question really, I'm not complaining. Just interested in seeing if there are any big games coming out soon. |

There are tons of big games already out and mass effect seems to be too big for you. Most the good games coming out this quarter are already released for the holiday season. There is really nothing to complain about with all the good games out right now. |

Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
Burnout Paradise. Hands down. Or if you like shooters you should check out The Orange Box...great deal for the price. Portal is amazing by itself and the epic feel of Half-Life 2 is great. You've got quite a wait for GTAIV...bet it won't be out until holidays next year.
Of course, if you aren't interested in a game like Mass Effect you should probably sell your 360 and give up video gaming in general. |
Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
If you aren't interested in games like Mass Effect because you have to get 'real deep into them' then I don't really understand why you even care what the next 'big' game will be? Even GTAIV is probably not going to be a have fun picking up and playing it every once in a while for 5 minutes type game.
I'd check out the arcade games. There's a ton of great games and they are made exactly for people that don't really want to get 'real deep' into games. |

Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
I hear ya on the sc-fi stuff. I'm not a huge fan of it, but I like it when it's combined with a horror aspect ala Gears of War.
But don't hold your breath, Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2 is coming out December 4.. |
Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
what would you guys recommend for right now? i played the hell out of halo 3, played through campaign and several online games. got a little bored, but i'll stick with it.
i moved on to call of duty 4 last week and absolutely love it! the campaign was amazing, really cool story. i'm lovin the online play. i like that you can run into 3 guys and take them out. i'm thinking of renting/buying within an hour. i'm hella bored, have the next 2 days off and want something new to play. mass effect? assassin's creed? i used to like playing the need for speed games and see a new one has been released. please, any suggestions would be appreciated. |
Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
I say Assassin's Creed for rental, to help you decide whether you want to buy it or not. Also, I just realized you live pretty close to me, holla.

Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
dead rising is 30 bucks and is great if you don't have it yet.

Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
If you have played DDR on other platforms and are a fan I would avoid DDR Universe for the 360, the game play is pretty bad.

Assassin's Creed was all out for rental so I passed on that. I want to try it, and from reviews I've read, you either love it or hate it, and not a lot of replay value. [ QUOTE ] dead rising is 30 bucks and is great if you don't have it yet. [/ QUOTE ]I tried Dead Rising a while back and hated it. The lack of save points or checkpoints killed it for me. I played for maybe an hour and I died and BAM back to the very beginning wtf? I found the control ackward too =( I ended up renting Need for Speed Pro Street. I will let you know how it goes. |
Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
first impressions of Need for Speed Pro Street:
UGH The announcer makes me want to return the game today. "blah blah blah RYAAN COOOOPER!" I get sick of hearing the characters name in basically every sentence the announcer uses. I miss the free roaming style, but i'm going to keep plugging away. the drag racing doesn't feel as good as Need for Speed Underground. You get to warm up your tires before the race to get a traction bonus. then you get to press RT for 12 seconds while shifting up with the right stick. it's not exciting. |
Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
Yeah, Orange Box is good. Mass Effect was surprisingly good. I was afraid it would take 30+ hours but I got through it in 9 hours and enjoyed it thoroughly over the course of about a week. I also don't really get into the sci-fi alien stuff and I hate Star Wars with unending passion, but the plot of Mass Effect was actually very, very good. It reminded me a little bit of Deus Ex for some reason. FWIW, Mass Effect is much better of a game than Halo, plotwise and graphicswise.

Re: so what\'s next for games on the 360
Some games to lookup to see if you should get a little early stoke on:
Alan Wake 12.31 2 Days to Vegas 1.1 Resident Evil 5- 1.1 Condemned 2- 2.5ish Mercenaries 2- 2.5ish Devil May Cry first quarter too I think. Biggest and most obvious is GTA4 which drops 3.1ish And of course, Cabellas Big Bass and Howard Lederers world poker! The new Turok should be sick but don't know when it drops. |

Really glad I haven't gotten to Mass Effect, GoW, or Bioshock. Isn't Lost Odyssey (sp?) coming out soon. I am excited for that one. |
