Ted Forrest

Why isn't he social. He's a badass with the cards, has made a ton of money, yet I rarely see him ham it up at the table. He kinda sits there with that joker grin.

He has much to grin about.

Pretty poor post and bad question. Why does Ted Forest, or anyone else for that matter have to live up to your expectations?

agreed, joker grin= money in his bank account.

not every name player feels the need to loudly spank his pokercock across the table or become some gibbering clown.

You make a pretty poor post youself. When did the OP say what Ted should or shouln't do? Seems like a simple Q to me. "Who cares" seems like the best answer.

that's because he's actually good at poker and he's not a self-promoting jackass.

FYP. Nobody has a problem with live pro's per se.

(Unless you are referring to people who say, usually correctly IMO, that good online specialists are usually better than the best live generalists in their particular games.)

He doesn't act like a scumbag/douchebag like 95% of big shot live players. I like his style.

Re: Ted Forrest

I find Ted one of the most likeable guys in poker. At the table he does not talk. He is thinking. Away from the table he is approachable and is even willing to help you with you game if you ask him a question. He is a class act who backs many players with his personal winnings. Many of his backings are failures because he backs many close friends. Often he would be better to back players he sees sitting at the table every day for long periods of time that seem to be winning for years. He gets my vote for one of the best players in the world for many years running.

Played with him in 5k short handed event at WSOP. He seemed like a very nice/quiet/polite guy. However, he is really bad at holdem.

lol. That's actually a fantastic piece. Until 10 minutes ago I thought I was a miserable, shy, misanthropic, grumpy, antisocial pain in the arse. But after reading that, I now know I am just an introvert! That sounds far more exotic and interesting.

Thanks Jeremy.

Why aren't bananas blue? They're great on cereral, they provide nutrition for millions of people, yet they are rarely the most interesting looking food on the table. They just kinda sit their with that stupid pale yellow color.

Re: Ted Forrest

Nit/boring story:

I got into an argument with him many years back in the 25/50 limit Hustler game because he was playing the chips of one of his "horses" and stole my blind. The dealer called the floor over and the floor ruled that he could not play someone elses chips(he had been playing at the Hustler big game at the next table).

After he berated me and left, his horse returned and said "You shouldn't have done that, do you know how many people he backs in here?" To which I responded, "I don't give a sh*t, he doesn't back me."

I have nothing against him, he actually seems like solid guy.
