Obama v. Richardson

Shame on me for not paying close attention to the debate tonight, but I like what I've been hearing recently from Bill Richardson. I like how he's more dovish than Obama on Iraq and I also like his very impressive resume: It's rare to see a governor with good foreign policy experience. However, I don't know very much about Richardson, specifically his domestic policies and I don't know how electable he'd be compared to Obama. I'm considering switching my support, but I'd like to hear from you guys.

What does he say about the mods of 2+2? Does DaviD Sklanksy support him?

Richardson is sucking up to Hillary to get a VP spot. Did you hear him at the debate? Oh, let's not attack each other guys, let's focus on the issues. What he really meant was, Let's not attack frontrunner Hillary so that she'll pick me for VP.

I don't know that he necessarily wants to be VP.

I hear he's into chicks that wear pant-suits.

Slightly off-topic: 2+2's BisonBison asks Obama a question at the 57-minute mark of this recent speech at Google.

The 57 mark!?!? Dammit, that's gonna take me 57 minutes to download!

Oh well. Better get started.

Re: Obama v. Richardson

Richardson promises everything (troops home super fast, much higher pay for teachers, childcare for everyone, fixing social security without raising taxes, and so on) without explaining how these things are achievable.

As far as no-chance candidates go, I prefer Biden who I've only started to notice recently.

Re: Obama v. Richardson

Iron, Richardson has a few problems if he gets the nomination or the VP slot. He has been accused of exaggerating things from his past. Until recently he claimed he was drafted by the Kansas City A's. Unfortunately for him, somebody checked and he was never drafted by any team.

Of much more importance are claims that border on sexual harrassment.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0307/3054.html

New Mexico's female Lt. Gov. said she doesn't like sitting next to Richardson. Money quote: "The governor pinches my neck. He touches my hip, my thigh, sort of the side of my leg." As far as I know these issues haven't been a problem yet, but if Richardson ascends in the polls, they will probably become news.

Re: Obama v. Richardson

Richardson would make a good VP for Edwards, but that is about it.

He has a great resume, but hes a pretty bad speaker, he tends to ramble like Biden, although he is good with the jokes and does come off a bit more like another dude at the bar.

Thanks for that link, Case. That whole clip was good. As an aside, I see that multiple candiates have their own @Google videos. I watched the Paul one as well. Very good stuff, I'll probably check more later.
