AK against 2p2er (Thac?)

Villian is beepbeepImajeep who I think is Thac. We don't have any real history and don't tangle too much. I have been experimenting with sometimes just calling AK OOP.

Full Tilt Poker, $2/$4 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

Hero (SB): $443.50
BB: $529
UTG: $406
CO: $137
BTN: $940.80

Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB)
UTG raises to $14, 2 folds, Hero calls $12, BB folds

Flop: ($32) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $24, Hero raises to $77, UTG raises to $165, Hero?

wtf are you doiung check-raising the flop if you don't know how to respond to a 3bet?

why?

also, i don't think this is the best board to cr unless you think you can get it ai ahead of his range, which i doubt

Re: AK against 2p2er (Thac?)

i think calling with Ak in position is good as a way to mix it up, but oop, i think we need to 3bet like almost always, just cause it shallows out the stacks and cuts down on ur reverse implied odds from being oop

Well maybe but I would never check-raise tptk here to fold to a 3bet.

why?

BECAUSE MY COACH TOLD ME TOO AND NOW I'M COMPLETELY [censored] CONFUSED!!!!! /rant

And when I hit TPTK I think it's the nuts because I've been so damn tricky. But a little hand reading/ranges etc. probablly makes this an easy fold... ok got it . . . .

sometimes it is great to call OOP with AK and c/r an A or K high flop

this is not one of those times to c/r

* not OP's coach

So, baluga, what is your plan if you do call here PF. C/C flop and do what on a blank turn, being as though our hand is so under-repped?

call, check any turn/riv against him to get all in

Re: AK against 2p2er (Thac?)

yeah, don't really like the flop c/r as much. I prefer it on different flops that we are comfy getting it in on.

Re: AK against 2p2er (Thac?)

Yeah, K96 with a flush draw would be a great place to c/r AK and get it in, KQ3 rainbow, not so much.

Yeah good idea with bad practical implementation.

to add -

you were tricky preflop. so check/call a couple streets. maybe all three. you're still deceptive, but with this board texture, it's a much better way to get your money in good.

given how you played the hand, i'd just call and probably check/call all in on the turn.

Re: AK against 2p2er (Thac?)

yeah c/c/c/c/c/c seems like one of many appropriate lines here. or c/c and lead.

leading the flop is cool as well

i think c/r is the worst of them though

It is a sweet name though. It has some real staying power...picture replacing "CHOO CHOO" with "BEEP BEEP!" How awesome is that?

Re: AK against 2p2er (Thac?)

board texture is huge dude, i love c/r an Axx drawy flop and getting it in here. its pretty bad to c/r a KQx board cause you're basically overrepping your hand.

and just cause our hand is "underrepped" doesn't really mean we have to get it all in, remember that hand ranges are relative
