Prop Bet: 100 lemons in 24 hours
 

A buddy of mine thinks he can go through 100 lemons in 24 hours. He wants me to lay him 3-1 on his money.
Here are the rules:
-lemons are bought in crates, only bad lemons are discarded
-lemons are to be cut into 7 pieces
-the full lemon must be eaten, including the skin
-he can puke at any time

I think I will win this one hands down, what do you guys think?

100 lemons comes out to about 35 pounds...

Out of all the possible challenges, why would you pick this one? It isn't really that gross, it isn't like some common food that people eat a lot of, it won't cause a ton of pain or anything...I just dont get it.

It's less than 35 pounds if he can puke it out. Depends on his Bulimia skillz. I'll probably take him to win.

When I eat a lot of sour patch kids or the like the roof of my mouth can get pretty sore, if its because of the sourness or whatever I think you win here, if its because of the grains of stuff rubbing on the roof of my mouth I think he wins here. Allowing puking is so -ev.

Yes, and after a point he will just be vomiting as soon as he swallows, so nothing will actually get digested.

Tell him you'll give it to him if he chugs 2 litres of milk at the halfway mark and holds it for 5 min.

If he takes the bet, he said he doesn't want to do it during school, so it will have to be the first day of winter break.

If he has a decent food processor, I think this isn't that tough. He just needs to eat something to counter balance the acid from the lemon slushies.

I think this is harder than my intitila thoughts byu the way.

Also with the vomitting limit it to atleast 1 min after he swallows each lemon.

No blending the lemons, I made it part of the rules. The lemons must be cut into 7 pieces by me.

Sounds impossible, or at least really difficult, even with unlimited puking.

I'd bet most people up to $50 on this and expect to win.

also... how much does he want to bet at 3-1?

because only betting $100 or so will only make $300 profit which is very poor for such an unpleasant task.

also... make it 6 hours.

and is he allowed to drink/eat anything else he wants?

this obv effects it. imagine i had to drink 3 bottles of JD in 24 hours but could eat/drink anything else as well.... i'd nail a litre of water every 15 mins to weaken the effect of the JD

Yeah, you know how people say "anything is poisonous if you eat enough of it?" I think this might be borderline. He is risking developing an allergy, and just general negative health effects of this much citric acid. I dunno....thats a [censored] of lemons.

Also, puking this many times in a day isn't going to be great for him. Besides the dehydration, think esophageal tears.

This sounds pretty easy. Think of it as 4 lemons per hour. 1/7th is a sliver of a lemon smaller than what you put in a Corona.

I'll take this guy to win, especially since he can puke.

Would eating chalk, aka Tums, balance the acid, or does that just work with neutralizing stomach acid? Either way, Tums would still be a useful supplement.

When I first read the thread I figured I'd be able to do it, but then I read he had to eat the skin aswell, which I think is the real kicker for him.

Btw, I really would advise that your friend doesn't attempt this. It sounds like a recipe for stomach and esophagial (sp?) ulcers.

Too much acid in the stomach can literally punch a hole through it. If your stomach contents leak into your body it's pretty serious and carries a decent chance of dying.

Please consult a Dr. before doing this bet.

it would be one of the biggest tragedies in BBV4L hisstory if the kid died....but any publicity is good publicity...go for it !...and obv no limit puking...cause cmon its hard enough already

the responsible side to me says 35lbs of lemons would be very poisonous. The other side wants to see what's left of his teeth after he tries and fails. raw lemons will soften the enamel and wreck his mouth. If he takes the bet i'm going to buy stock in his dentist and mortician.

you definitely have this won. I would make a small deal about limiting the puking to suck him in. Like "Oh man, I don't want you to just puke after every lemon...."

Even if he does you'll win for sure. Only puking rule I'd make is that he must swallow everything in his mouth before puking. If he pukes with his mouth full, gotsta eat it.
