Online Poker Regulations

Is there a regulation that prohibits employees of an online poker site from playing online poker? And if not, why not? This seems like the most obvious regulation that should be mandatory to protect players.

If AP doesn't do this, nobody should ever play on that site ever again.

PokerStars does not allow any employees play on the site. Unsurprisingly, many of them used to play on Party. I guess they probably still do.

That's a good policy. They have access to too much information, as it varies from a physical casino. Online, they are relying on computer programming information, which is penetrable and potentially can be analytically deciphered.

PokerStars employees cannot play on PokerStars.

Unless I'm misreading your question you are asking if poker site employees are allowed to play *on any site*, to which the answer is yes. I play regularly on a number of sites.

If they had that rule then noone who liked online poker would work in the industry, which would be disasterous.

The worst part of taking a job at PokerStars was having to stop playing on PokerStars. That and moving to the Isle of Man.

Most sites ban employees from playing on their own site (even the whole network for some skins). Others that are less scrupulous or desperately need the rake monies do not.
