50 beers in 24 hours

Post your predictions for Thursday the 19th or Friday 20th for me drinking 50 beers in 24 hours. We could postpone for a week if necessary but all bets must be placed in person at foxwoods for the event. I am 170 IBS 5"9. Pm or post for details or a shot at me.

How many ounces will you consider 'one beer'? 8 oz? 12 oz? 20 oz? 6 oz?

Can you throw up?

please post a trip report, however no one is dumb enough to actually bet on something like this

I say you wont do it, but good luck to you!

2 beers/hour for one day...

wtf is the big deal?

This is not difficult at all but I'm not bored enough to do it.

Yeah, but he's kinda small. If he was > 250 lbs I would like his chances.

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

The throwup thing has yet to be determined depends on the bets. At my weight and if you saw me you would def say i couldn't do it. I am not sure if i can or not, but will likely do it in one sitting and not sleep which is kinda crazy instead of sleeping and thus why some think its easy. Think of alcohol content for my body during those hours.

A trip report is def. in the cards should be good times.

Um 24 beers in 24 hours is pretty tough. We have a day to do that here at school and it is always ridiculous.

50 light beers in 24 hours for a 200 lb guy is a BAC of 0.455

I can do 24 beers in 24 hours sleeping.

dcb777 04-14-2007 01:35 AM

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

according to your calculator that would be:

Your estimated blood/breath
alcohol concentration is
.618 g/210 liters of breath
(Wow! Thats pretty darn high...the ASIV would display
>.400)

whatever that means

dcb777 04-14-2007 01:36 AM

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

if i calculated correctly of course which could be a mistake since I am obviously somewhat drunk

that's just because people who never drink decide that participating is a good idea, and most people don't actually get up at midnight to spend all 24 hours on it.

i know people who've done double newman's days before, there's no way its hard enough to get me to bet even money against someone who drinks enough to think he can do it.

in a given night going to a bar I'll consume anywhere between 15 and 25 drinks depending on how much I ate and how much I want to drink. I'm the same build of the OP but I think the biggest problem would be staying awake. If I'm eating and doing something to stay awake 50 beers in 24 hours would be a walk in the park.

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

I think 50 beers in 24 hours at one sitting could be an interesting one though. That I am unsure about though I think I could do it.

dcb777 04-14-2007 01:46 AM

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

This would be a challenge for sure though and I haven't tried to do that yet.

Anybody trustworthy willing to be at the foxwoods in my place to place my bet? Only gonna bet if there's no puking allowed though.

the difference between 30 and 50 is so huge many people may underestimate it.

QFT. The last 20 are exponentially harder than the first 30.

bk1248 , TStoneMBD would be willing to take it and are trustworthy, but we need to talk first about rules before it takes place.

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

W/o throwing up I think this would become very difficult after the first 10-12 hours honestly.

Eat constantly and throw up (if allowed) and you have a good shot.

Consuming 2 beers per hour and staying up for 24hrs straight may be difficult in itself...

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

i agree that this is very difficult. This is not something I have practiced, but i would love to do it just to do it and after that quit drinking for good and have a great story about why I did it!

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

I have defeated 36 beers in 24 hours fairly handily. We called it the Beerolympics in college and held it once every, uh, weekend.

dcb777 04-14-2007 02:04 AM

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

I have also done this, but the difference getting to 50 is HUGE esp. in one sitting

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

people are right that the hard part is the last 15, but if you really use the entire 24 hours and there's money on the line, i really think this is not that daunting. the main danger is if you aren't used to drinking this much that you pass out at some point and "sleep" through the 24 when you could have been awake pounding your last 10. I would never bet against any college kid doing this. I got a buddy who just started working and can't let go of college who drinks about 24 beers before we head out on a friday, then has mixed drinks at the bar before trying to bring a cougar home and passing out face down on his couch whether he's successful or not. I figure he starts pregaming around 730-9 and stops actually drinking around 2-3. 35 is probably realistic for him in one long night. and that's max 8 hours. he could sleep for 10 hours after that and have no problem w/ the last 15.

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

i am 26 though and have been out of college for 4 years so my practice isn't all it used to be.

i agree 50 could be done, but in one sitting at my size would be a real challenge?

Whenever people say stuff like this I can't help but wonder if they thought about the fact that this challenge will bring him to a bac of .6+ which is high enough to kill something like 90% of the population (obv just pulled stat out of my ass, but I think it's pretty close).

So can this be done? Who knows, my money's on not for a man his size. Saying it's easy is insane though.

dcb777 04-14-2007 02:31 AM

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

there is nothing easy about this obv. Some people forget that they are drunk at 6 beers, how do they do at 12 and above?

Big Poppa Smurf 04-14-2007 02:33 AM

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

Just for once I'd like to see all the people who say these eating and drinking competitions are easy or really easy actually do them.

Re: 50 beers in 24 hours

ok I will give you a result on this one by next friday all opinions are still welcome obv

this is obviously not normal. your friend sounds like an alcoholic by the way.

normal is 12 beers and you are done. Anything beyond at 25+ is not good for you.

he is a little bit of an alchy, as are a good number of my friends. he is also 6'8". BUT i dont think this is the determining factor. if i can just pick 3 random friends who do this on a friday/saturday, any SF twoplustwoers wanna place bets? ps. i love a good prop bet

I did 24 cokes in 24 hours when I was a kid.
This was big-time disgusting.
By the end of it my pee was coca-cola brown.

50 beers in 24 hours doesn't sound very realistic to me.

well you should show up at foxwoods or talk to our friends and post you bet then.
