APPT Sydney
Hey all,
I had won an entry on Carbon Poker a few months ago into the APPT Sydney and wanted to see which other 2+2ers were planning on being there. Since it is kind of a haul to get there I am going down early arriving on December 8th and doing 2 nights in Melbourne, then 2 nights in Cairns at the Great Barrier Reef (hopefully will dive while there too), then onto 5 nights in Sydney for the tournament. That way hopefully I won't be jet lagged by the first day. First trip to Australia so hopefully this amount of time won't feel too rushed. I also planned a 14 hour layover in L.A. on the way out and am planning on checking out the Commerce for a bit and making some spending money for the trip I know the majority of folks will qualify on PS, but maybe some trout can meet up for a drink in Sydney. Anyone else planning on going? Anyone have estimates on the number of entrants / prize pool? Halo7 |

Re: APPT Sydney
I might be heading down to sydney earlier to chill out. Just wondering what the cash games down there are like, if i should bother visiting the casino before the APPT starts

Re: APPT Sydney
Cash games are awful, don't know what limits you play but the $1/$1 NL is $80 buyin, no more no less, 10% rake up to $8 and $5/hr time charge. There are two different types of $2/5 tables, one with a $200 buyin no more, no less, and the other is $500 max buyin, and I think they actually charge money per hand, think it's $1 or something stupid like that. Higher than that I think is 100bb max buyin, not sure how rake is done. Don't think it runs any higher than 10/20 NL, and if it does I haven't seen it run.

Anyone have estimates on the number of entrants / prize pool? [/ QUOTE ] We're expecting about 500 players for the APPT Grand Final. That makes for a $3M AUD prize pool. And of course we're hoping for more. FYI, the full schedule of events can be downloaded here: http://www.appt.com/tournaments/sydn...ey-Details.pdf |
