Blackwater.. it gets dirtier and dirtier!

Here is a link to an article from the New York Times that brings to light more and more Machiavellian and nepotist aspects of US companies providing so-called "security" in Iraq.
It seems more and more like an illegal conduit for benefits to those (read administration) who started and continue this lost war for their benefits!

Why is Blackwater still in Iraq? I thought the Iraqi Prez ordered them out of his country....who is running that country; the Iraqis or the Americans?

Well, it's obvious the American people have no control over anything that goes on in our foriegn policy. So it's not the Americans, so I am not sure who really has control over there since the people over here hate that war. Someone wants us over there...

Here is a link to an article from the New York Times that brings to light more and more Machiavellian and nepotist aspects of US companies [such as Blackwater] providing so-called "security" in Iraq.

[/ QUOTE ] Emphasis added.
And here's from the linked article :

[ QUOTE ]
Alvin Krongard, 71, who left a $4 million-a-year job in investment banking to serve in top posts at the Central Intelligence Agency from 1998 to 2004, played what he describes as a routine role as an intermediary in helping Blackwater get its first big security contract from the agency for guards in Afghanistan in 2002.
...
"We have now learned that... [Alvin] Krongard, serves on Blackwater’s advisory board,” Representative Henry A. Waxman declared, saying the inspector general had “concealed this apparent conflict of interest.”
...
Events might suggest that [Blackwater CEO] Mr. Prince chose to recruit Alvin Krongard to curry favor with [his brother] Howard Krongard and blunt any inquiry into Blackwater.

[/ QUOTE ]
That was for Macchiavellian. As to nepotism, here's more from the linked article:

[ QUOTE ]
Howard Krongard, 66, a former general counsel at the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche who took the State Department job in 2005, was grilled this week by House Democrats. They accused Mr. Krongard ... of ... improperly interfering in investigations, including a Justice Department inquiry into allegations of weapons smuggling by Blackwater employees.

[/ QUOTE ]

If anything, MidGe was too kind: these are not "aspects"; these are the real thing. And your tea bag is full of holes.
