New hellcat stt on party poker
 

Just noticed the new game after todays updates.

They start with 2000 chips, 3 min clock and pay out after 15 minutes. I guess a lot of clock running will decide who wins these.

Any strategy for them?

Ugh im not sure im happy about this, alot of party fish may go over to these instead of the speeds.

Edit: Only at the $3 and $6 level so i don't care that much.

so in theory we will have some multiway pushes at the end.
Interesting to work out some math:
- how does the stack matters in respect of the blind level being the blinds lmited.
- how does the equity change vs time (teta), at 10 seconds to the end if you are 4th in chips u push ATC and if the delta between you and third is >blinds you have no chance unless somebody has a hand that will make him jump in position.

Then some situation might arise ex:
10 players, last hand:
UTG is chip leader with 6000
UTG+1 is second with 5000
UTG+2 is third with 4000
everybody else is equal with 715 chips therefore MP1 will push and everybody else will call and unless there is a chop the winner will go in the money so UTG+2 will have to push ATC no matter what...tons of this situation might arise...
I think it would be very limited to exploit.

sure, but there will be a "last hand" I suppose, in that case if tot chips of players from 4th and below> 3rd player it will be exactly what I said.

I just watched one of the end of these and no-one seems to have the faintest idea about tactics at the end. Had ppl in 4th and 6th out of 6 left folding the last hand in ep.

I think theses games are invented by party to reduce (or completely remove) the edge skilled players have over the fish so the fish will have more money to spend on rake before they go broke for the month.

I seriously doubt it will be possible to beat the rake in a game where 50% of the winnings most of the time goes to whoever wins the last hand.

Might have been a slight exggeration there [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
But i seriously doubt the potential edge will be able to cover the rake even if they reduce it to 10%.

Anyway, im not that surprised if you have an edge that beat the rake today, and maybe tomorrow, but what about next week?

Also, i need a slightly larger sample to be convinced.

OMFG I just witnessed the dumbest hand ever in one of these things. Well I guess it happens all the time though.

About one minute left, Blinds 150/300.

UTG: 2600
Button: 5800
SB: 8900
BB: 2900

UTG raises all-in, a sensible move.
Button folds.
SB takes his time bank of 40 seconds, then folds, making this the last hand of the game. PartyPoker is fu.cking stupid, how can someone have such a huge time bank in this game? It should be 10 seconds for each hand, no more.
BB: FOLDS, ENDING UP IN 4TH PLACE WITH $0. CAN IT GET ANY DUMBER?????????????????

This one is even worse.

Two minutes left and there is a massive chipleader with more than 11000. HE IS GUARANTEED 1ST PLACE IF HE JUST FOLDS THE REMAINING HANDS SINCE HE WILL STILL HAVE MORE THAN 50% OF THE CHIPS IN PLAY.
And yet he calls an all-in with AQo and is dominated by AK.

Lets assume we knew this was the last hand.
UTG should be shoving ATC.
If folded to SB he should be folding ATC. Actually this isn't true since he is gtd first I would def spite call any two because it is more fun.
If folded to BB he should be calling ATC.
This is where it gets interesting
What should BTN be reshoving?
If BTN reshoves what should SB be calling?
If BTN reshoves and SB folds what should BB be calling?
If BTN reshoves and SB calls I think BB should be folding ATC or pretty damn close to it.

Time-based tournaments

Time-based tournaments give you added flexibility in a busy world. These tournaments are the same as 1-table tournaments, except that time-based tournaments end after a specified amount of time, rather than when one player has won all the chips.

Time-based tournaments are available in all poker variations as limit, no-limit, and pot-limit games.

The top three remaining players at the end of the specified time period are paid according to the normal STT payout percentages, and ties are split between the winners. You'll be offered an email summary of your tournament if you finished in the money.

To find time-based tournaments in the Lobby, visit the Sit & Go's menu and look under the 'HellKat' tab.

Tournament length

The tournaments listed in the Lobby all have a time limit such as five, 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

There are two versions of time-based tournaments: Ones with fixed finishing times, and ones without fixed finishing times. Tournaments with a randomized end time can finish 10% earlier than the published time. So, an hour-long game can finish up to six minutes early.

You can keep track of the game's progress using the timer in the bottom right-hand corner of the table window. When the timer reaches the last 10% of the game it will begin to blink. You'll have less time to make your next move in order to prevent stalling.

You can opt in to a Sit&Go Replay once your game has finished. This means you'll be taken to another time-based tournament table rather than to a regular Sit&Go table.

haha I just played one where i was in 4th place by a mile, last hand and even taking down the blinds leaves me in 4th, ofcourse guy 2nd in chips gives me action with ace rag and loses, shipit.

guys dont think!

If that was the case, calling with A7s is actually +EV.

yeah he risks 30% of the prizepool to win an extra 20% of the prizepool
taking a 60/40 is break even for him, but if A7s vs random is 61:39 then it's a good call because in fact you can give villain 60% of the "ties" and hero 0% of the "ties"(each tie means villain comes 2nd and hero comes 4th) which changes the equity slightly so it's more 62:38
Villain actually called with A4o though, which is -ev even giving him 60% of the "ties"

Do you think the game is beatble to cover the rake?

I guess it could be if we can avoid the big multiway all-in at the end i.e. knocking out 5-6 players in 15 minutes or accumulate 6-7k chips to win it anyway enough times.

Actually the opposite is true, it is even more EV- being LAG at the beginning when you will have so much more actions in the last 2 minutes.

I plyed 2 and made money on both, I love them, people are sooooo bad!
