Re: ; / :) ) ) )
Playing against yourself?
Also, if villain has half a brain, he'll check back anything that's not a straight. |
Re: ; / :) ) ) )
I don't know about turnbet unless villain 3bets a lot preflop with low pockets or he has a low went to showdown percentage. You only beat something like A8 or AJ and split with AK.
Bet the river. I think any lower straigt or two pair will call you or even one pair occassionally. |

Re: ; / :) ) ) )
Isn't this a standard bet/3-bet?
|
Re: ; / :) ) ) )
If you go for the sexy you'll get a bet/call from Kx. You might get a little value from inducing too.
But you'll get checked behind by 2-pair, sets, 8x etc. And you won't have the opportunity to b/3b if he overplays a king. Seems like loss of value to me. |
Re: ; / :) ) ) )
too fancy

Re: ; / :) ) ) )
not sexy

Re: ; / :) ) ) )
On the turn, villain most likely has you beat - especially considering his range of hands. He's probably caught a piece of the board with a Queen, or a Ten, or maybe has a pocket pair.
That said, you have a strong draw (nut flush, nut gutshot, overcards) As indicated above, villain likely has some sort of a hand, so you have very little bluff equity here. Accordingly, you should check the turn. If villain then checks through --> Great, free card. If villain bets the turn --> you're getting neary 7:1 money with your strong draw, so it's an easy call. From there, check/fold the river unimproved. However, since you improved on the river to the straight... I don't any need to get fancy. The board would be pretty scarey for a paired queen or pocket pair, so if you check it'll probably just get checked through behind you. Value bet the river and expect a call. Adam |

miles you know if any noob suggested taking this line you'd rip him a new one.

Re: ; / :) ) ) )
b/3b eod.
|
Re: ; / :) ) ) )
Miles, just to make sure you werent on to something here I did some math, put villain on a range and made some assumptions that was probably biased towards a check/raise strategy and Bet/3bet still came out ahead.
The only way I can see C/R being better than B/3bet here is if we make the assumption that the villain will just call the river some percentage close to 100% with the 8 combos of KQ(only 8 cuz K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] would raise turn) and the 2 combos of KTs. When I did the math I assumed villain would raise the river 100% of the time with KQ/KT. In constructing my ranges I also assumed this was a CO vs BTN situation since it was 4 handed. |
Re: ; / :) ) ) )
In the ak hand, I guess you put him on 77/88 with a heart (done with hand), AJ (maybe a crying call), KTs (bets it), or JJ (bets it). I don't see him having KQ/J here. Dunno if AT can still be there.
All in all I think you're chances of getting 2 with the cr are at least as good as getting 1 with a lead so I say nh sir. |
Re: ; / :) ) ) )
i didn't play this hand. i am the cutoff.
i had KQ, i got checkraised, nearly timed out, said "aghaghahawrrrrrrrrr AhKh" and called. i said something about how it was a good thing i had KQ and he (she?) wanted me to post the hand. i don't know who this is here or if he even posts. i obv agree with everyone in this thread |
Re: ; / :) ) ) )
hey miles just curious, whats your line with KQ as CO if you are bet into on the river? r/c? r/f? just call??

here's the hand from my P.O.V. against this player i might just call river.

Miles, what I am about to say is heretical. Or maybe I just love being dramatical, lolz.
I assert the best way to analyze this hand is to *read your own hand* after you cap PF, bet the flop and the turn and check the river. |
