Simple pre-flop poll.

I haven't played limit hold em seriously in months and months. I used to be a pretty decent winner in the Party $10/$20 game. I switched to NL in April of last year and haven't played more than 1000 hands of LHE since then. To say I'm rusty is an understatement.

Anyways I was watching a $100/$200 game on Stars and I noticed a 3 handed game with MadCaddy, 10Gunman, and some guy who was literally limping every button. He seemed to be playing absolutely dreadful, so I decided to sit in with position on him and take a little $2000 shot.

UTG big fish limps. I have A2o on the button. Caddy is in the SB and Gunman is the BB. Call, raise, or fold.

game selection still more important than your question I think given what you said. . . .

I think it is close, but I lay it down, if it was suited, I prob raise....I think we can pick a little better spot, and BB will be tempted to come along either way with fish in the pot.

I agree it's a close fold. If the blinds were worse you could more easily make a case for raising, but I assume they're both tough and very aggressive and aren't just going to let you isolate the limper.

I think it's a raise normally, but if you're taking only a 10BB shot I'd pass up what I feel like is a small edge and wait for a better spot.

The main problem is that you're only bringing 20 big bets to the table and making it sound like that might be your entire bankroll. If this is the case, you should not only fold but get out of the game. That's a completely different subject though.

Assuming you aren't playing with scared money and have enough to reload (since the normal buyin for a 100/200 game is $4000 on most OL servers) You should limp. If you raise you *might* force the sb out. I have played with 10Gunman to tell you he knows there aren't many hands he'd fold in that situation getting over 5 to 1 on his money, so raising seems counterproductive, you won't be able to isolate unless 10Gunman picked up one of the worst hands in the deck.

I call -- any ace four handed playing with a known limper is worth playing. You have position for the entire hand and are getting 3-1 on your money as of now. Easy call for me.

Re: Simple pre-flop poll.

A2o in a four handed game versus any two random cards is a slightly positive expected value hand per the Wiz of Odds starting hand chart ...its in the top 40-45% of hands in this situation...so if i could limp in, i'd call hope to get very lucky quick...

we have position and a premium hand 4way vs a terrible fish limper. how is this close?
