Help me buy a winter jacket - reward offered.

I need a hand from some American shoppers and preferably larger dudes. I'm looking to purchase a birthday gift for my brother - a winter jacket. I need a 3XL and something along the lines of a Columbia jacket (preferably a 3 in 1 where the fleece can be removed).

Even though the Canadian dollar is at par with the US the retailers in Canada are gouging by not making any adjustments to their prices. A Columbia Titanium jacket that you can purchase in the US for $149 retails for as high as $295 in Toronto.

Any how I want to order a jacket online but I would like opinions on jackets and online retailers. If I order a specific brand name I want to know that the jacket is authentic. There are tons of knock offs up here - I'm sure it's the same down there.

I mention Columbia because that is what I wear in the winter but I'm open to other suggestions as well. Looking to spend $150-$200 but that is flexible as I'm willing to go higher if it's something interesting.

If a suggestion in this thread leads to a purchase I'll throw $10 into your Stars account.

go to moosejaw.com or eternalsnow.com GREAT prices/selection there

edit: I would go to moosejaw if you're looking for more of a ski jacket and eternal if you're looking for a snowboard style jacket. Marmot is a really good brand for ski jackets on moosejaw IMO

Not crazy about the Eternal Snow jackets but I like the Moose Jay stuff. Problem is they have very little selection at the 3XL size - remember we are shopping for a large dude. I would definitely buy something for myself there though.

This one is pretty good. I have one like it and it works well in temps around 0F (coldest that i have experienced since ive had it)...I think this one is only a 2 in 1 but that is still good...and they have multiple sizes up to 3XL

Here's a high-end columbia jacket. fwiw...most of columbia's outerwear is...well not the greatest, the waterproofing doesn't hold well compared to say...arc'teryx or mountain hardwear. however, this columbia one has good zippers!

Not bad. I had looked at this exact jacket on several different sites but could not find anything larger that a 2XL so this is a nice find. I just called their customer service line and was informed that they do ship to Canada however they are out of stock and will not receive any more until Nov 6th - brother's b-day is the 8th plus I wanted to get it to him early because it's getting freakin' cold here.

This is amazing. Just to give you guys an idea about the price gouging going on up here. I looked at that very jacket (Columbia Charger) at George Richard's (which is a big and tall menswear store) and they were selling it at $295 - your link has it listed at $129. Sick. Even with shipping and duty it will come it at far less than what I would pay at a store less than a kilometer from where I am sitting.

EDIT - $129 Jacket + $10 due to 3XL + $52 in shipping = $181. Still over $100 less than I would pay here. This option is leading this far.

The tarp is affordable but lacks style .

Thus far jupiterpig is leading in the race for my hard earned $10 but we shall see what the morning brings.

With that being said I love DeucesNeverLoses' most recent offering but it's probably a little more than I want to spend on my brother. That being said I will be more than willing to send him the reward if I decide to purchase it for myself (selfish sob that I am).
