Standard bluff vs weird river donk?
Villain seemed like a bad LAG from the time i'd been at the table, no experience of him calling light though, just making some weird bluffs etc. The hand in question happened directly after this first hand below (not really looking for any input on first hand)
I think i made a mistake in the QJs hand in not raising the flop, that's way better than a float right? Thoughts on river? Meh, I'd say he has 55 type [censored] a lot of the time. Will he fold it... I'm not sure.

Re: Standard bluff vs weird river donk?
after his weak river bet, your big rr looks very fishy.
i doubt hes folding. |

Re: Standard bluff vs weird river donk?
what i meant was...i'd def value bet J9+ but i'm not sure about smaller 9's cos i'm abit hesitant to value town myself...not sure where the cut-off point for value-raising should be, any ideas?

[ QUOTE ] Are you leveling? A9 = 92 [/ QUOTE ] nope not levelling, 9x is def in his range (although i agree there isn't a huge difference), i guess i should just value raise any 9-x, but i will value town myself sometimes when i raise 98o for sure, but with A9 i am beat never. [/ QUOTE ] You do realize they are both the same hand? They are both the same boat... |

Zeebo Theorem...

Re: Standard bluff vs weird river donk?
far from standard imo. fold the flop, and don't bluffraise the river when he blocks it - a bad lag is usually doing this with the intention of snapcalling whatever he donked with.

Why is it "pretty bad" to just fold? In my experience, these guys aren't folding much that they lead for pot on this board. |

[/ QUOTE ] He 3bets any decent pair pf so is leading with total air or a small pair usually, which our hand has decent equity against. Even if he calls flop raise, we have position so can put pressure on him on turn and his hand range can't stand much heat at all. |
Re: Standard bluff vs weird river donk?
If you wanna rep a big pair raise flop. Will he believe you? Dunno, depends.
|
Re: Standard bluff vs weird river donk?
i don't like this. I would raise or fold flop.

Re: Standard bluff vs weird river donk?
Seems like too many bad players like this guy will go to the grave on the river because they HAVE A FULL HOUSE BABYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Seriously, you probably get called too often for this to be good, even though most of his calls will be bad ones (WE know that you are V-betting 9x+ here often, but he doesn't).
Raising the flop to me is better then calling. |
