WSOP on ESPN thread (10/2 - Day 6)

Tonight's two hours of broadcasts feature the final 36 playing down to the final table of 9 starting at 8pm ET. Expect more of Philip Hilm's death stare, a Jerry Yang sighting, lots of Scotty Nguyen and more of Hevad Khan's antics.

Kenny Tran? Was he ever at the featured table?

Hope you are watching FGators, your boy is at the featured table.

Damn. Kenny Tran is an ass.

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (10/2 - Day 6)

Kenny Tran seemed to really not like Jerry Yang, evidenced by his "no praying at the table" and calling for a 5 on the river when Yang had Alaei drawing pretty slim.

Wonder if they had some history from earlier in the tournament.

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (10/2 - Day 6)

wow, what Kenny Tran just did is by far worse than anything RainKhan/Humberto/Hellmuth has ever done.

Seriously, I know that stuff is done online but in the ME of the WSOP? WTF is wrong with you?

Couldn't agree more. Those comments to Yang about "funny cards" when he wasn't even in the hand! And then he calls for a 5 on the river. What a tool.

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (10/2 - Day 6)

"No praying at the table." - K. Tran.
If it was against me I probably would have punched him, but knowing what I do, that whole scene was hilarious.

EDIT: That's twice now they've mentioned they mix of colors of chips at the table. Surprised ESPN usually doesn't mention stuff like that.

Norm's been doing some Yang bashing, even in the wonderful KFC portion. "You can't win them all Jerry Yang." Half expect him to continue with "What now, b***h?".

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (10/2 - Day 6)

im loving jerry yang. his aggression in owning people is more with bluffs and semibluffs, whereas Jamie Gold just coolered people non-stop.

kenny tran is just being kenny tran, I haven't met him but plenty of people I know who have have had nothing but good things to say about his personality.

Daniel Alaei limps A5o in SB (blinds at 30k/60k), Jerry Yang pops it up to 260k w/ATo, Alaei reraises all in for 1.8M, Yang calls and prays for nothing funny, Tran makes fun of him and calls for a 5 on the river, river is a 5.

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (10/2 - Day 6)

i actually think its a fine play. its about a pot sized reraise with the antes, and a good squeeze opportunity, and a great flop to bet on.

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (10/2 - Day 6)

Great flop for Childs. If only he made that play against Yang at the final table..

Based on the way he's playing here, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a complete bluff.

LOL @ Johnny Chan next to Scotty after Scotty takes a big pot. You always see Johnny Chan standing next to the player winning a big pot, the chip leader of a tournament, etc.

1. at Gold's side last year
2. at Jerry Yang's side at this years final table after Yang started gaining a huge stack
3. at some chipleader's side one time on a WPT episode

I would say groupie.. but I guess I'll show a little more respect to him..

actually I like the play a lot, but the only thing it's not really that believable since the only boat that's possible with the action (no bet on the flop) is A8.
