I've seen a lot of calling pf in this game with hands like AK QQ JJ when people 3-bet their open, so it's not unreasonable for him to have QQ/JJ in this spot.

WTF do I beat that he calls with on the flop? I think I get a little more action from KK and AA preflop (most people 4-bet for sure).

Note that turn completes the rainbow.

I just don't see what he has at all. JQ? that's beaten by aces or kings.

Your hand is effectively AA here, except that it splits with all other 5s below J5. So - do what you do in this spot with AA. Looks like a fold, but it's close.

I think what he is saying is that any fives that might possibly call being pretty crazy...i.e. suited connectors 65 or 54. But we could be up against a crazy A5 sooted call though, or even crazier a JJ call. I wouldn't bank on JJ. I instacall...

Sure we do. 45s,65s,(53s,57s alil looser) and A 5s are the 5's standard combos. But people don't usu raise most of them pre that's true. people usu. Call with 45s and 65s more than a5s to reraises in hu pots.

WTF? The board reads J55Q, our hand is 555JQ. The 8 does not play nor would the 4 in 45, we do not outkick any 5s.

Exactly, so we have a 54, or 56 out kicked...or essentially chopped pot. Only an A5 has you beat, at which point I leave the table...

Heh, kicker does not play but really, do people open and call with K5/Q5/J5 preflop out of position? Maybe if it was sooted, but the most likely hands I'm behind are A5 QQ and JJ.

So if you fold this 5x, do you also fold K5 and A5?

If you call the all-in, do you also call with AA/KK in this spot (because as Triumph pointed out, that's what our hand has been reduced to at this point). Obviously holding a 5 in our hand decreases the likelihood that villain has a 5 as well.



OR 3-handed + TRIPS + 200 bbs + re-raised pot = INSTA-BUSTO?

I instacall this because ppl at these stakes use the installment plan when they have a lock. Overbet pushing the flop or turn means they are scared/vulnerable and you beat anything that meets that description.

NO reason to fold that...if you are playing 85 off regularly for a 3 bet, this is optimum situation

yeah so anyway I folded..... SIKE obviously I insta-called and he showed me a J9 (just top pair on the flop). WTF? I mean against most sane opponents this is a close decision. They're obviously not playing QJ like this since they know that AA/KK owns them, so against a sane opponent I'm in a quandry. Against an unknown I wasted no time calling.

the fact that we have an 8 means there is only the case 8 left, where there is 2x the combinations if we had AA. This is not insignificant at all.
