Whose Career would you rather have?

Ignore the steriods issue for Bonds.

Ewing, Bradshaw, Jeter.

Ewing did win a championship once, at least.

ewing/marino/bonds

Everything was tied 5-5 when I voted, interesting.

Re: Whose Career would you rather have?

Ewing
Marino
Jeter

Having the opportunity to play your entire career in New York if you're a competitor of the highest order, and relish the spotlight, is the ultimate challenge. In Ewing's case, that fact would trump having a ring for me. Jeter? Well, NY + 4 rings + endorsement cash cow= easy choice.

As for Marino, as beloved as I'm sure Bradshaw is in Pittsburgh, he's another in a long line of beloved Steelers. Marino was the franchise his entire career, and is a GOD amongst Dolphin fans.

Damn you for pointing out a loophole in my poll. What if only pro careers were considered? Still Ewing?

Re: Whose Career would you rather have?

Yeah. Ewing was simply too much better than Horry.

I mean, if it were Bonds vs... I dunno, Luis Sojo or Chad Curtis that'd be one thing. But Jeter? he's dreamy.

Re: Whose Career would you rather have?

I can't understand choosing Marino over Bradshaw. If it was Steve Young maybe but I don't think Marino's career would be nearly as enjoyable as Bradshaw's.

Re: Whose Career would you rather have?

Ewing - Hes a HOFer withought the rings
Marino - HOFer no rings, much better weather and a fill head of hair
Bonds - I hate Jeter

Re: Whose Career would you rather have?

Jeter is the easiest choice ever. most overpaid player in baseball (he's good, but not $18m or whatever good), all those rings, all those women. plus he's likable.

Bradshaw, Bradshaw, Bonds.

Horry (but it's close), Bradshaw, and in the easiest choice ever, Jeter.

If I choose Bradshaw, do I have to have the crappy acting career after I'm done with football?

Depends on which one you want to bang.

Re: Whose Career would you rather have?

Don't people want to be known as the better player? Ewing, Marino, and Bonds are surely recognized as better players than Horry, Bradshaw, and Jeter.

Re: Whose Career would you rather have?

Horry, He was a laker and won a ton of rings. I would be much happier having his career than ewing.

Bradshaw, a career with that many superbowls is too hard to pass up on.

Bonds, I would not want to play for the Yankees. Plus it would be pretty sweet to be going for the HR record.

Horry

Bradshaw

Bonds

Re: Whose Career would you rather have?

I voted Horry, Bradshaw, Jeter. I don't think it's close.

Bonds is the closest, because baseball is the sport where an individual legacy can be separated from team success most easily, and his individual accomplishments are so memorable/highly valued. Marino's lack of a super bowl hurts his legacy as a QB more than Bonds' lack of a ring.

Ewing
Marino
Bonds

Just win baby

of course, I don't like Marino's and Bond's general personalities, so I'd hate to be them.
Ewing is just too ugly.

yes, but this stuff doesn't really matter if you are hated.

if Bonds were say, Ken Griffey Jr, who appears to be a likeable guys w/o steroid questions, then this would be a lot closer, and maybe Griffey would win.

Re: Whose Career would you rather have?

Horry -- more titles, people will think of me as one of the greatest clutch players ever, and every chick (not just the ones in the Gold Club) want to bang me.

Bradshaw -- Just win baby

Jeter -- I wouldn't like it if everyone hated me...my skin's not thick enough. If everyone in just Boston hated me...I'd be okay with that.

Re: Whose Career would you rather have?

Horry, Marino, Jeter for me. Horry just seems to have a cushy job, all positive press, no negative. Same with Jeter.

However, Super Bowl or no Super Bowl, it would be really be cool to just bomb it all day like Marino did, rather than hit a flimsy 50% like Bradshaw.
