I don't know enough about chemistry to know for sure, but I think this one might be gold. I'm assuming you got all the facts right.

Second one is way better.

My read is that it's the same joke the first one is just more subtle, perhaps overly so.

I think that's true and makes the second better.

I dunno, seems like anyone who has taken a couple of chem courses should be able to figure it out. That is some pretty damn basic chemistry.

I agree that tne 2nd one kinda cheapens the first one though.

haha i like this. i was determined not to look at the second one until i got the first one. i just looked at what was left, realized they were acids, and so the cats must have took bases...

i do think the two work well together.

wait is the first one good because you actually made the link to the 'cats: all your base are belong to us' when you read it or is there something everyone else is missing.

imo they work well together and are real good.... cause you spend sometime on the first one going wtf then the second is like ahhh... but on its own the first one isnt a joke that i get

IMO this is funnier if you have only bases for your reactants, get rid of panel 6, and in panel 5 Jean says nothing but the cats say "They are all belong to us"

Mostly I was alarmed that I knew the names of 7 of those 8 chemicals more than ten years after high school chemistry.

Secondly, I don't get it.

Lastly, I figured it out and I think the 2nd one would be GOLD if you switched the 5th and 4th panels.
