Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

I see this on the client and in the promotional email, but can't actually find the terms on any Absolute web page. Even their links point back to the normal 75 points for $10. This would be a nice change assuming all other terms remain the same. Probably only going to last a few days though.

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

just read the e-mail. Thsi is the best thing they have done for ages!!! When's the next bonus?

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

The wording makes it sound permanent though....not a one time or limited promo. This would be very sweet! I'd play there for sure under that structure

I also got the email too and it links to the deposit bonus page, so it might only be for first time deposits

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

great! if true. so they making it 40 points for 10$. seems ok.

Genesis 06-15-2007 12:48 AM

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

There's always a catch. The terms now appear on their site with this line in the middle:

"This offer is only valid for new users who have not previously made a deposit."

Palomino 06-15-2007 01:33 AM

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

Who knows. Their T&C don't say anything about it being for new users. But I have 87 points in my pending bonus account and I haven't had any $$ transferred over.

It is Going to be 100 points for 10.00.....I will lay 2:1 on that change. You heard it here first

Palomino 06-15-2007 01:45 AM

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

It has been changed for the good. I just checked my account again and they fixed it. Before I had 87 points and $110 pending. I just went back in. 7 points and $90 pending. Wow, AP did something good? Not that any of this will matter if they don't do more reload bonuses.

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

So its 1 point per raked hand ($.50)?.. that equates to like 2000 hands to clear the $500 initial deposit bonus as that right?

Genesis 06-15-2007 07:05 AM

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

One point per $.50 raked hand where you must see the flop. Way more than 2000 hands. At 75 points/$10, it was in the neighborhood of 500-700 total hands per $10 at $1/2 6-max. If it is now 20 points/$5, by simple math it will be about 160 total hands/$5, or ~1.5BB/100 bonus at $1/2 6m.

This is bizarre. Last night they fixed the bonus so that it was $5/20 points. Before they fixed it I sent them an email inquiring about this change. Here is their response...

I played a few hands this morning and my points went from 17 to 1 and I cleared $5 in bonus.

TheScientist 06-15-2007 03:26 PM

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

I was also sitting at something like 85 pts last night, and when I logged in a second time, I had magically $20 extra bonus dollars and I was down to 5 pts.

The money is still there...
and to see for myself, I just fired it up and played a few hands. Bonus still works @ $5 per 20.

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

How about celebrating this new bonus structure with a reload bonus? Or does that make too much sense?

lefty rosen 06-15-2007 06:29 PM

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

I give it a mixed review. The old rocks may comeback there and that will make the games really tough to beat without the bonus and rakeback. The games got much softer when they changed the bonus terms. In fact the games were about the same level as when the site first started.

is UB going to do this? Cause they are the worst ever

Re: Absolute changes bonus...again!

this is really worthless for anyone that plays 10K hands a month already. I run through the bonuses they give me on the old schedule.

Now, if they give 1 reload a week, then that will be a great change for me.

Why are you playing so many hands without a bonus? The amount of $ you are losing but getting Absolute RB instead of Full Tilt RB has to be fairly high.

I wouldn't get too excited
Bonus

"for a limited time, $5 will be credited to your Absolute Poker account every time you accumulate 20 pending points."

Looks like a temporary thing.

I don't play many hands at all without a bonus. What I'm saying is, 10K hands is about all I need to clear all my bonuses at AP a month. I don't play 10K hands without a bonus.

FWIW, AP games are tons better than FT, and the rakeback, ARP bonuses, and regular bonuses are hot at AP

AP is actually 30%. However, going by the percentages alone is deceptive. When Absolute switched from dealt to contributed, my rakeback got cut exactly in half from what it had been before (28% at dealt previously). Full Tilt still gives RB based on dealt hands, so you get more for each % than at AP.

Absolute is weighted contributed and if you are American 20% gets taken off the top for 'increased deposit fees'.

I don't think so but only AP could say with 100% certainity, well maybe 90% anyway . This page indicates the bonus code is only for BJ players. If anyone knows
different, say so.

Absolute is weighted contributed, but I am definitely not experiencing a 20% deduction. People may be confusing ABS and UB there.

Yep, weighted contributed AND 20% off the top. Sucks to be an American online poker player.
