The Apprentice--Poker. Which Pro Would You Want to Apprentice With?
If you had the opportunity to apprentice with any top pro player for 1 year, who would it be? You would travel with this pro to all the big tourneys and cash games and be taught directly by the pro how he (or she if you pick a female pro) wins.
I would pick either Freddy Deeb or Chip Reese. They have both been winning continuously for over 30 years, and both have won the $50k H.O.R.S.E. |

Does how well of a teacher the player would be count?
I think the obvious answer is Phil Ivey, but he doesn't seem to be much of a talker, so communication could be an issue. |

Barry Greenstein, because I think he'd be better at explaining stuff than most other very talented players.

wtf do you realize how much variance there is in tournament poker? i can't believe you're crediting so much to winning 1 tournament. if i asked you this question 2 weeks ago, deeb would barely crack your top 50.
phil ivey hands down. |
