Huckabee freaking terrifies me. He speaks very well in a folksy kinda way that's likely to have appeal but he is seriously the worst of all worlds:

He is:
1. A warmonger
2. A socialist (seriously! check his club for growth record)
3. A hardcore bible-bashing social conservative

All that being said, and I agree with this, I still think he's one of the top choices on the Republican side given our options. Granted, he's WAAAAAAAY behind Ron Paul, but I think he's way ahead of the top candidates, even with his astounding shortcomings, IANAL.

I dunno... the scariest thing about Huckabee is I think he believes what he says. Romney OTOH is a purebred politician who was probably raised in a think tank somewhere, and he wouldn't be as immediately destructive.

But politicians who truly believe and act on their delusions are what we libertarians need anyways! Seriously. Ron Paul has a viable (albeit small) chance to be elected President. Do you think his platform would have been anywhere near the radar if it wasn't in the wake of 8 years of Bush? When you screw things up bad enough eventually people have no choice but to see things for what they are.

Clinton/Romney type politicians who are good at not ticking anyone off too bad are the types of politicians that just prolong the agony, imo. Out of control neocons help highlight the inherent injustice. So in a sense, if Paul doesn't win, we should want the absolute worst of the pile to win.

Huckabee doesn't have enough money to compete and the only reason he's high in the polls is because the media props him up. He's just in the race to get his name in the hat for VP.

Hour long interview with a newspaper in New Hampshire. He explains his positions in great detail, rather than in the 15-30 second sound bytes that you get in most media. Pretty much covers everything, from Iran to Abortion to Corruption in government.
