McPherson was supposed to be a good kid, but made a ton of bad decisions when his football role was reduced....he was booted from campus a long time ago
One of the 2p2 forum members went to high school with McPherson and said he was a good kid at the time. shame to see him blow the educational opportunity he got.

Sorry, got Bright mixed up with Alaeze. I think Zook is taking the right steps with these kids after they're on campus but some recruits could still be seen as "borderline". Admittedly, I have no clue how the program was run in the 80's though. I'm glad to see Illinois having some serious success.

the 80s was selling out at all costs to overcome the very, very, VERY ugly 70s

the guys in the 80s, by and large, were not students in any sense of the word

Illinois is last year's San Jose State. They'll win if the opponent turns the game over to them, and they're just catching all the breaks this year...

I don't think that will last. ND will take awhile to win again and we'll probably [censored] all over ourselves against Purdue...I'm sure we will in Champaign. All I ask for is competence...why is that so hard?

First off im a die hard mich fan since the days of Bo. since i couldnt watch mich today (damn big ten network) I decided to watch Ill-Wis game. And i was like DAMN, this Illinois team is filled with straight up atheletes. They are big, strong and fast. For a minute I thought I was watching Flordia play (uniforms looks similar, lol. And most surprising to me was how well coached they were for such a young team. This game should not have even been this close, don't forget the Wisconsin kick returner clearly fumbled the ball on their final possession. If they can play with the poise they did today they will be very hard to beat. Im not sure how their schedule is but I look forward to watching them play OSU and Mich. I'll say it now, were in deep trouble when we play Illinois, can you say spread offense boys and girls [img]/images/graemlins/ooo.gif[/img]

Bowl eligible for the first time in a long time. Feels very good. Would be *very* happy to win the balance of the schedule except for tO$U.

Agreed. I'd be ecstatic with an OSU win. I can feel it, they'll get them this year.
