Re: PokerStars: Allow Datamining

[ QUOTE ]
How would datamining increase the rockiness in any noticeable way on Stars?

[/ QUOTE ]
Because now the multitabling nits could play 20 tables instead of 10 tables.
Because the more hand histories, the easier using of aid sw = no more thinking when it's time to act.

[ QUOTE ]
why are you so adament about this?

[/ QUOTE ]
you can change you belief but you cannot change the reality (the outcome this will have).

[ QUOTE ]
anyway, did I even say profiteering wasn't one of my motives

[/ QUOTE ]
I reacted mainly to (blackize) who clearly did (if my sarcasm detector wasn't broken).

[ QUOTE ]
I care about learning--it's fantastic to watch some of the guys that post here when I get a chance

[/ QUOTE ]
don't tell them or they'll stop posting
BTW. you can do it right now easily while being on-line. What is much better because you don't lose the "feel" of the game (i.e. someone is tilting or so).

[ QUOTE ]
I care about fair games

[/ QUOTE ]
I care about fair and good games. All or nothing.

[ QUOTE ]
I am very afraid of bots in ring games

[/ QUOTE ]
I am also. But not on PokerStars.

[ QUOTE ]
It's against the T&C. I don't want to be banned from a site that valuable.

[/ QUOTE ]
AFAIK if you don't open more table than what you can "watch" without overlap you won't get into trouble. PS could do their TC a little clearer (I said that several times in another threads) but not looser (at least if they aren't sure it won't hurt the game.

[ QUOTE ]
My guess is you probably sell mined hands....otherwise, I don't get you at all.

[/ QUOTE ]
My guess is you probably use some kind of help. If not bot directly then an intelligent hud.

BTW. I said that the sold hand histories can be altered. Why? Datamine one, alter the #, date and other random stuff and you have 10 hands by a second.
Why would I do so if I want to sell them? That statement is equal to "if you ever buy don't buy from me".

IMO the only reason to allow datamining is that apparantly some are doing it anyway. That's very annoying for those of us who won't do it if its not allowed. Far preferable to allowing it is to stop those who do it anyway but is that possible?

[/ QUOTE ]
Because some people shot other people are you going to make this a standard?
I don't data mine and I don't care someone does. But I do care what the majority does.
BTW. I don't because I play enough to get as much data as I need (and my computer can handle real-time).

I advise all people to do so. It's the best way how to datamine. And enough for basic feeling if you don't need to know that he check-raises with flushdraw (5%) trips (24%) TPTK(49%) etc.

People saying there wouldn't be benefits to it in instances like this are wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]

the ONLY benefit of datamining to the overall game is catching bots and the occasional cheater, which is an incredibly rare instance (not them existing, just them getting caught from a dateminer). And its only a benefit if the site itself isnt actively trying to do the same. Since I have faith in stars, im not worried about it. Stars isnt FPT or AP, its an actually well run company.

no datamining. don't allow it. It shouldn't even be up for question.

I agree it shouldn't be allowed because its so bad for the fish and beginners. Just saying the only possible reason to allow it is because people are doing it anyway, don't know if its a big problem and its far preferable to stop them.

[/ QUOTE ]

Stars has an upper limit on cash game tables so this is a non argument for them. SNGs are a solved game, most people are already playing as many tables as they can act on in time. MTTs the fields are so large and there are so many situations that you aren't going to get enough hands to make much difference.

[ QUOTE ]

Because the more hand histories, the easier using of aid sw = no more thinking when it's time to act.

[/ QUOTE ]

Surprise Surprise, for the billionth time in this thread, some moron is overstating the amount of information gained from having datamined hands.

Wtf is an intelligent HUD?
