When the clubs let out and the drunks arrive.

Drunks who give their never-played-poker-before drunk friends a couple hundred to play with so they have drunken company during the stackoff.

Blackjack players who saw the WSOP on ESPN and sit down with a bunch of green chips at a 1/2NL table.

Players who decide they are going to stack you, no matter the number of rebuys it takes.

Tells.

Watching people do the things that they have seen poker players on TV do, solely for that reason. This sends many 2+2ers on tilt, but I absolutely love it. Well, as long as it doesn't slow the game down.

Seeing all the little good luck charms that people use, and the superstitions they abide by.

Oh... I love the people that agonize for 2 minutes over calling that 6 dollar pre flop raise at the 1/2NL table...

They like... cap their cards... sign deeply... Look back at the cards, then to the lunatic who had the balls to make it 6 to go...

... meanwhile they have 5-2 Offsuit.

"I'll lay it down... this time"

"I'll let you steal it"

This didn't get enough love. I might be the only O8b "live (semi?)pro" that I've ever come across that's under the age of 23. Gotta add that I love the look on the face of the 70-somethings who have been playing O8b for twice as long as I've been alive try to explain their ridiculous strategy to me as I rake in the pot.

- Knowing that in most places, simply playing A-B-C poker will make you a winning player.

This needs love, too. Unimaginative poker is soooo profitable. I really wish I knew how people get to be as dumb as they are and still have as much money as they do.

This thread reminds me why I haven't played online poker for three years. Live poker is just FUN.

Rolled up Aces over Kings

Towers and stacks of checks

Check-raising stupid tourists and dragging huge pots off of them

Playing all night, High-limit at the Taj...where the sand turns to gold

Last time I played O8 live I was 35 and the youngest by at least 30 years.

You know what else is funny is pushing your chair back and knocking over the oxygen tank of the guy at the table behind you.

saying just the right thing to get the old guy with a turned set of 3s or 4s to all but tell you exactly what he has so you can lay down your TPTK and then busting him 5 hands later as he tries "to teach you a lesson in respect"
