Re: TR: Real Life Politics

This was a real life conversation I had today, with the most devout Christian I know.

Her: Who are you going to vote for?
Me: Nobody.
Her: (Following a gasp and a condescending look) Why not?
Me: Because it's a waste of time. But if I had to vote, I'd vote for Ron Paul.
Her: Ugh, I hate that guy.
Me: Why?
Her: Because he's anti-war.
Me: Trying hard to hold back laughter at her blatant hypocrisy. Doesn't she claim to be a Christian?
Me: Isn't that a good thing? I mean, take Iraq for example. Think about how many lives would've been saved if we never invaded Iraq in the first place.
Her: Yeah, but they have democracy now.
Me: ... *head asplode* ...

[/ QUOTE ]

lol, ahh democracy - decisions made by morans and backed by force - what joy.

You should have asked her what part of the Bible had Jesus spreading the Good News at the point of His Holy Sword.

Oh wait.

[/ QUOTE ]

She was probably catholic...

You should go ahead and vote for Ron Paul. Use Jesus chic as your motivation. Voting is a waste of time, but in the case of RP every voice that's heard puts forward that much more motivation for someone to deliver the message next election cycle.

Re: TR: Real Life Politics

You just have to tailor the conversation to whoever you are talking to.

1. Christian Republican - "Ah, Ron Paul is great. He is an obstetrician and delivered over 4000 babies. He is as pro life as they come. You know Giuliani is pro abortion, he likes to kill babies."

2. Rich Republican - "Ron Paul wants to get rid of so many taxes, you'll twice as wealthy in a year. Would you rather spend $20 billion in foreign aid going to Africa, or would you like that to come back to you in a nice fat tax return?"

3. Anti-War Democrat - "You think Hillary is going to stop this war? Good luck!"

4. All other Democrats - "Ron Paul is going to bring all that foreign aid back to the US so we'll have plenty to go around the next time a hurricane or big fire hits the homefront. He's also pro stem cell research!"

Pretty good exposure here.

Check it out. TinyURL supports Ron Paul in their top right corner.

That's a lot of views per month.

That is pretty cool.
Problem is, it's only reaching the same Internet-savvy demographic that is already fully aware of Ron Paul.

I love Ron's analogy in Part 3:

Domestic Policy: We either ban or subsidize
Foreign Policy: We either bomb or subsidize

This is a really great interview. It's an hour long, but Ron Paul really gets into what he thinks about all the different issues. Anyone who has questions about or misconceptions about (*cough* Iron) Ron Paul's views would be much better informed if they can find the time to watch this.
