and I thought we already had a method for moderators to resolve disputes. it was created by a visionary named Clarkmeister and its name is MODWARS™

ElD,

There's no doubt in my mind that the 2p2 public wants you. You're some kind of icon to a lot of posters on the site. I would hope for their sake that you choose to stay on in some capacity, especially in regards to the forum created in your name.

Of course, I wouldn't want or expect you to do so if it's no longer fun for you.

yeah, i'm totally lost as to what actually happened around here, and i'm sort of assuming that some of the decisions that were made were made after IM/PM discussions, but wow.

granted i talk to el d more than i talk to yeti (v rarely) and daryn (never), but i think that it's been pretty obvious from just his mod forum posts that he didn't want to do it any more.

blech.

commodus for silent but deadly mod of oot.

beers all around.

Actually it's Ryan demodding yeti for virtually no reason that got all this [censored] started.

[censored] ryan, [censored] [censored] piece of [censored] [censored] whore.

i knew rules were bad. one rule and the place gooes to hell.

You're such an idiot. If you knew what you were doing none of this would ever happen to begin with.

strategy mods are good at logical reasoning and therefor realize that it's a waste of time to spend time in this forum. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I'm sure you've noticed the number of mods that hardly ever participate in discussions here, mostly strat mods. The tone is undoubtedly the reason for many of them. The tone in this forum is worse then any other forum. There's no sense of community or working together to get things done. There's no sense of purpose or no initiative to solve cross forum issues. A voting system isn't going to fix this. The Reds need to moderate the tone.

It really is true that the cobbler's children have no shoes. People say a lot of mean-spirited things in this forum that most of wouldn't tolerate in our home forums.

It would be nice if we all thought twice about how we make our points. It isn't necessary to be rude or profane just because you disagree with someone. And if someone makes a habit of 'forgetting' their manners than maybe Mat needs to say something.

PS: Just to be very clear, I'm not blaming all our problems on mods flaming each other. That would be extremely naive of me. I'm just saying if people were a little nicer this forum might be a little more pleasant and productive.

BTW, I'm not really sure that specifically the strat mods are avoiding this forum as much as you think. There just seem to be about five core forums which have 95% of the issues requiring discussion. Naturally those mods need to be here. Beyond that all the other forums--strat and otherwise--seem to be lightly represented. Not that this is a problem IMO.
