The lower handicappers claimed their average drives went 247 yards, while driving-distance stats taken on two holes documented an average of 232--a 15-yard exaggeration. Higher handicappers claimed a driving average of 227 yards and, in actuality, hit it 198 yards--a 29-yard lie of the mind.

And THAT'S when the knew they were going to be measured - how much do they lie when it's to some random internet forum?

I'm pretty sure that when we talk about avg it's more like best 7 of 10 or so...perhaps more like median, than mean because we want to get rid of outliers. I.e. if you smash one out of 20 330, and 2 out of 20 210, then just throw those out and use the avg of the rest.

I guess I just spend a lot more time around good golfers, and have done for a long time. I know some people exaggerate how far they hit the ball, but 300 yds or a 280 carry is really not that big a deal with the modern equipment. That's how far my standard "I want to hit this fairway swing goes".

Where there will be people with small dicks complaining that no one has a big dick. Those with a big dick will be saying "what's the big deal I have a big dick". And still more people with small dicks will say they have a big dick and post pics asking for prop bets.
