Re: I make a lot of questionable decisions
Well, it wasn't quite a free card, it was a cheaper one than it would have been for EP; the other two opponents had already put in two bets each.

Isn't his equity going to change for the better if he can eliminate 33% (and maybe 67%) of his opponents?

Why would you rather keep the post size small? I'm assuming because making it bigger increases the possibility of the opponents taking one off for a gut shot or other thin draw on the turn. What I'm saying is that, if that is the reason, then it's better to 3-bet the flop because they're less likely to take one off on the turn when you 3-bet the flop than when you just call. It doesn't make sense mathematically. But they don't think mathematically. They think you 3-bet you must have a big hand. They fold thin draws here despite that fact that there are more chips in the pot. You wouldn't do it. But they do. [/ QUOTE ] I think Andy said it best here. |

[/ QUOTE ] only person he stands a chance against eliminating by 3-betting the flop is EP (unless it button makes it 4 bets, and you dont want that to happen either), as a guess I'd venture that EP will fold 50% of the time. If my math is correct thats increasing the hero's equity by 16.5%. |
