You mean refuse to participate in polling, or refuse to participate in voting? Obviously, pollsters want to exclude those who don't vote. If you are just talking about people who vote but don't answer polls (or don't receive poll solicitations), you should be easily able to measure the impact by comparing past polls to actual election results.

None of those other candidates had the type of fiercely individualistic supporters Ron Paul does. It's completely different. A Ross Perot supporter isn't significantly more likely to be the kind of person who hangs up immediately. A Ron Paul supporter is.

On the other hand, if I recall correctly, Ross Perot polled WAY higher than his actual vote totals, so your example proves my point that pollsters cannot accurately measure the "unusual."

Yes, they were extremely accurate, assuming you are talking about the telephone polls prior to the election and not the exit polls.

Look guys. Only one thing matters at all to the Paul campaign. Doing well in the NH primary. If he does that he has a shot, if he doesn't he loses. I wouldn't worry about anything until then.

If "individualist" generally have voters that won't answer polls, why hasn't this effect shown up in the past performance of Libertarian candidates? AFAIK, the Libertarian party nominee has typically underperformed his polling.

Perot only polled higher before he dropped out of the presidential race prior to the Democratic convention. He re-entered much later, and never really recaptured his initial popularity.

Wait a second. In the video someone mentioned (around the 4 minute mark) that they HAD ALREADY PAID the money they were supposed to. And they showed up on time. If this is indeed the case, how can they be denied access?

The security guards were turning delegates away who were wearing Ron Paul T shirts, asking them to go put on "proper attire." Attire was apparently not mentioned anywhere in the information packets that were sent out to the delegates.

However, it is certainly not the case that enough would-be Paul voting delegates were turned away to have made a significant difference in the results.

The 17% showing for Paul here is not bad at all. The voting was restricted to previously voting delegates to the past two Texas GOP state conventions, and the Texas GOP has been trying to unseat Dr. Paul for as long as he has been in office.

What was not reported on much was that Dr. Paul had throngs of Texan supporters in attendance, including his own parade and (I [censored] you not) a Liberty Bell provided by the Associated Conservatives of Texas.
