"TMac is a much much superior player to Pierce."

lololol

edit: just wanted to remind people that pierce brought the celtics two games away from the NBA finals with a supporting cast of Tony Delk, Eric Williams, Antoine Walker, and Tony Battie, with Rodney Rogers as the 6th man.

[/ QUOTE ]

And TMac has still never won a playoff series, right?

lol @ within 2 games. This is really not that great of a feat. considering how awful the east use to be/still is.

[/ QUOTE ]

TMac was still in the East then.

He never even got Orlando close to that point.

TMac almost single handidly beat Detroit in the first round. They lost in 7 games, and Tmac had ZERO help. I think TMAC when healthy is a top tier type of player, and Pierce is just a notch below imo. The problem is TMAC is rarely healthy.

But what are you basing your thinking on? Clearly you're not basing it upon winning in the playoffs, scoring average, rebounding, or shooting percentage because Pierce is ahead of TMac in all of those.

And IIRC this series that you're talking about: That was when TMac's team was up 3-1, TMac said something that indicated they were already in the second round(it used to be only a 5 game series), and then Detroit won 3 in a row, right?

Also, how do you explain TMac playing in about 75% of the games in 03-04 and his team finishing dead last in the league? I don't think any tier #1 superstar would ever do that no matter how bad his supporting cast. I mean, can you really imagine Nash/Kobe/Duncan/etc. being on a last place team?

I agree that 100% healthy T-Mac is better than 100% healthy Pierce, but it's not a "much much" better.

T-Mac in the '05 playoffs was pretty bitchin', though.

[/ QUOTE ]

they are both the top 2 in this category. "the 2 best offensive players with the worst defensive skills."

[/ QUOTE ]

their both not even close to being top 2, and TMac is actually a pretty good defender when he wants to be

[/ QUOTE ]

name 2 better offensive players with worse defense? most NBA players could be good defense players, the problem is most don't 'want to be'. so that is not a good enough excuse for TMac.
