The Kid was set up by his manager, the Man and Lady Fingers. Set up by everyone probably including the little kid who was always bothering him.

The final hand was unrealistic, even for a set-up. But so was the final hand in The Sting, but they were both good movies overall.

did you watch the sting? the final hand of it was a purposly stacked deck. It wasnt a random cold deck, the bad guy had the dealer give him 2 nines and newman 3 3's, then he drew 99 and newman drew his fourth three. Then newman switched his 3's with jack's because he knew it was a setup. He outcheated a cheater, it wasnt like some random full house vs strait flush cooler like in the cincinati kid, the fact they both cheated in the hand was a big involvment of the plot of the movie.

2nd everything in your review, though I'm sure she only gave him $100 to gamble with or something (he stole the $1000 later). Truly an abysmal film; the pretty good first scene suckered me into dropping my guard.

yeah, it was terrible.

i had a two hour lunch break today so i went and saw it and i would have walked out if i had anything else to do. probably one of the worst movies i've gone and seen in a long time. i was super disappointed.

I thought most of the actual poker scenes were ok, but the rest was just awful.
