Stars signed Wil Wheaton a couple of years ago. Gosh did that impress the ladies.

and then they dumped him. that was a sad day for poker. http://wilwheaton.typepad.com/wwdnba...g_and_tha.html

It seems that Wesley wasn't Crushing the games then ..

On Boris Becker : I expect him to suck.

He's a nice big fish with loads and loads of cash and he's no doubt attracted to the glamourous image poker has in movies and such (Casino Royale).

Reality will smack him hard in the face as some Stars regulars will quickly relieve him of all his money and then some.

I could be wrong though

rofl. how stupid can you be really?

i doubt heīll play high, let alone nosebleed stakes on pokerstars. he might play some donkaments or sit down at lower tables to do some promotion, but heīs WAY too smart to get himself slaughtered in public (or if he isnīt, stars will tell him not to do so as it would generate a lot of bad press). itīs just ridiculous how everybody - especially on the german forums - talks about how awful he is, how much money heīll drop etc etc. itīs just as dumb as it gets. stars signed him, bb pretends heīs really interested in poker (while its all about cash, really) and heīll attract some new players for sure. thatīs all you have to care about, morons.

This is all stupid.

i smell poker bust soon...common who gives a rats ass about some wanker who used to play tennis in germany??? honestly. They going to sign the canadian curling team? WTF?? I hate they star signings. and i'm sure he got sqadidly in terms of money. probably live tournament buy-ins are paid for and he gets stars money and maybe a small cheque on the side. still pretty good for being washed up though!

Perhaps, just this once Pokerstars is interested in other parts of the world than US/CANADA.

I don't know why people think he has a lot of money. He had to pay 14.4 million to his wife back in 2001. He had issues with his taxes that led to big bills, and he has multiple businesses where he was the primary investor go bankrupt. Not to mention money spent on lawyers to keep himself out of jail for Tax evasion.

He also has an illegitimate daughter, whom he had to pay 2.5 million to the mother and 25k a month.

He has burned through a lot of money. Why else would be signing with pokerstars. I guess they signed him because like most poker players he is allergic to money.

i couldnt imagine anyone better suited than becker for promotion in Germany. gotta be a good move by pokerstars though he s probably pretty expensive. i m pretty sure he wont be a good poker player, this game is too complex for him.
