Chan Gailey of Georgia Tech was reportedly fired. I'm kinda surprised by this because He was 44-32 with 6 bowl games in a row. They are expecting to do better?

[/ QUOTE ]

How could tOSU fire John Cooper after going 111-43-4?

[/ QUOTE ]

Cooper was fired because he said the OSU v Michigan game was "just another game"....not embracing that rivalry will get you fired

[/ QUOTE ]

Gailey's two stated goals upon being hired were beat UGA and win a conference championship. 0-12.

I've heard Cutcliffe a little, and that's a nice choice.
I'm pretty sold on Chris Hatcher or Charlie Strong right now, but always open to change.

Some of the awesomely ridiculous rumors so far: Dan Reeves, June Jones, Steve Spurrier.

[/ QUOTE ]

There is 0% chance June Jones leaves Hawaii. I love rumors, they're so often a reflection of the source's stooopidity.

Ok, here's the current state of the GT coaching search

Many current and former coaches have called to ask about the job opening. 2 current SEC head coaches called and were told we're not interested. One has been all but confirmed as Houston Nutt. David Cutcliffe expressed interest but was also told we're not interested. "A former coach" also called, but was told no. It was not GOL or Ted Roof and Randy Edsall is being interviewed, so most believe this person to be Fridge.

The current breakdown is as follows:

Tier One Candidates
Randy Edsall
Will Muschamp
Rick Neuheisel

Tier Two Candidates
Chris Hatcher
Jon Tenuta

Tier Three Candidates
Charlie Strong

Still lots of interviews yet to take place and candidates could move up or down during them.

Re: Nutt gone

Rumor has it Tuberville = Arkansas. Even though ESPN posted that Ears and AU signed an extension, they actually have not.

I'm just wondering what people think of the possibility of Schiano moving from Rutgers this year is? I've bitched about him all year, I know, but I am happy with him as the coach(maybe that opinion will change if they lose in the International Bowl). I'm just wondering what the stability Rutgers has or if programs would even consider him.

Wannstedt 3-year extension??

3 years/3+ million is the rumor for the 3 year extension to Dave Wannstedt. Hmm...

He built Rutgers into a winner from a program that was, frankly, crap.
You should want that guy to stick around for a long, long time.

I don't know how much stock I'd put into CFT.com, since its a new spawn off of PFT, but they are saying there is rumblings of Spurrier to LSU, has anyone heard similar talk?

It makes sense, especially with Pellini going to Nebraska most likely, and the problems Spurrier had with the academics/administration at SC.
