You yanks should also understand that it's not exactly a magical once in a lifetime experience to visit Paris France for an european...

Also, the goal of the trip should be having fun and making sure the gf enjoys her trip, not scoring points with culture and historical stuff. She's 17 for crying out loud, let her do what she enjoys.
