But major American companies are in tobacco, alcohol, and gambling business abroad in countries where age restrictions are more liberal than in USA (I suppose 18 in Macao).

Online, brick and mortar- it doesn't matter, so I really don't see what you think the stretch is here. I don't see how you think they're putting their neck on the line here.

Anytime a large company gets involved in an endeavor like this, it makes a statement. Their statement is that online poker is good, and we want in on it. That kind of move speaks silent words to the administration, and hopefully, loud verbal words from lobbyists for the industry.
